This video would actually be a lot funnier if Tomas Vokoun was not taken off the ice on a stretcher.
Ouch. While the situation is certainly a funny one, I certainly feel bad for Vokoun and wish a speedy recovery for him. I can only imagine how painful that was. Ballard obviously did not see Vokoun or anyone for that matter right in his stick's line of path, but that's what happens when you don't pay attention to what is around you. Good thing there was not a forward wearing less protection than Vokoun, otherwise that situation could have gotten real ugly real fast.

I Interupt Your Regular Scheduled Program For This Live Blog
Halfway through the 3rd period of the Panthers-Flyers game and it's tied at 1 with 12:30 to go. All the Flyers need to do is get 1-point out of this game and they are in the playoffs.
JEFF CARTER SCORES!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A SHOT AND WHAT A GOAL!!! The Flyers now lead 2-1 and are 12:08 away from the post-season.
Zednik is stopped by Biron on the wraparound. Panthers only have 3 shots on goal thus far in the period.
Picked off! Pass to Zednik who shoots it! Save Biron!!!
8:27 to go.
Earlier, Mike Richards was awarded as the Flyers most valuable player. 7:25 to go in the game. Remember, the least the Flyers need to do is clinch is to send this game into overtime. Offsides on Florida.
Phone calls really do come at the worst times. 4:39 to go in the game.
I'm off the phone. Still 2-1 Philadelphia. I'd use CiL, but for this short of a blog, it's not worth setting it up and all.
Puck out of play with 3:18 to go and the Flyers still lead. That's 3:18 away from the playoffs!
That last goal was the 18th goal in which Jeff Carter gave the Flyers the lead this year. Talk about clutch.
Zednik tries to fling one on but it hits the side of the net. Icing called with 2:15 to go and the faceoff will be in front of Biron. Biron snares the bouncing puck off the draw and the clock is down to 2:01!
Potential icing on the Flyers is waved off. Weiss a wrap around and a chance...NO! Vokoun has gone to the bench! 1-minute to go!
Offside on Florida! And unless the Panthers can get 2 goals in 36.9 seconds, the Flyers are in the playoffs!
Shot on the empty net goes wide for the Flyers!
Backhander on Biron and he MAKES A HUGE SAVE!! 10-SECONDS TO GO!
Faceoff.....SCRAMBLE FOR THE PUCK!! PANTHERS TRYING TO GET A LAST MINUTE GOAL TO GAIN GROUND ON THE RANGERS!.....NOOO!!!!!! AND THE CLOCK HAS EXPIRED!! THE FLYERS ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-1!!!!!!!
In other news, the Phils are currently losing 4-0 in the bottom of the 8th. But alas, this night belongs to the Flyers. I've got work to go. Congrats to the Flyers for once again making the post-season!
