Modern times has not made this time of year the easiest time of year because let's face it, if I come on here and just say "Merry Christmas", I'm a religiously insensitive douche bag, but if I just say "Happy Holidays", then I am a politically correct douche bag. Either way, some will perceive me as a douche bag.
That being said, even though I am for all intents and purposes atheist/agnostic, every December 25, my family, mostly Catholic, get together and exchange gifts and feast on lasagna made by my grandmother. It's not really much of a religious gathering other than some of my family saying grace before the meal. As an unknowing kid, they always made me say it, so now, whenever they turn to me to reprise my role, I try to pass it off that I forget or that one of my younger cousins who are Catholic should do it. This year if put in the situation I should might try my great Aunt, also Catholic. Besides, all of the above would get a greater thrill out of it then I would if I was religious.
For some slightly different music, try Shinedown's take on "Happy X-Mas (War is Over)" and Taylor Swift's version of the popular Wham Christmas tune, "Last Christmas". You're not gonna find too many original Christmas songs these days, so you take what you can get and these are certainly good ones.
So in order to cover all of my bases possible,
Merry Christmas
A belated Happy Hanukkah
Happy Kwanza
Happy Boxing Day
Happy Chrismahanukwanzakah (the original mash-up of the big 3)
Happy Chrismahanuboxingdaykwanzakah (sadly the original forgot everyone's favorite non-American Bank Holiday)
What I'm trying to say is, all the best to everyone and your families!
War is over if you want it.

Song Of The Day: "Graduation (Friends Forever)" By Vitamin C
A random, but heartfelt best of luck and congrats to the MHS Class of 2009 graduating today, and what do you know, there's rain and storms in the forecast tonight! And to think that before we graduated that the last 11 MHS graduations were held outdoors and presumably without hassle from Mother Nature. I guess ours extended the streak of outdoor graduation, but somehow, I don't think a day like 6/10/08 occured quite frequently for them.....Regardless, in honor of them, I will put up the incredibly corny song that MHS always uses on the morning student-produced TV news journal on the last broadcast before final exams and subsequently graduation.
And this will be the one time that I break my own rule of no song more than once. I will put this song up on the day of each subsequent MHS graduation for the length of time that I run this blog or any blog for that matter. On MHS graduation day, you can bank on seeing this song posted. ;-) It's amost like a rite of passage if you will, you're not an MHS grad until you choked up listening to this song while watching video from your last few days there.

Thursday Afternoon Links, Random Thoughts, And Song Of The Day: "Sound Of Madness" By Shinedown
Seeing as I've got nothing in particular as of now to post, and I'm bored now and I'm working tomorrow, I figured I would throw up one of these posts. I'll try to do this every Friday, but seeing as I probably won't be blogging at all until the open threads, I'm doing it today.
I've never seen weather like this before in my life. It has literally rained here for 8 straight days and if I recall correctly, this is the 9th straight day that we have gotten .o1" or more. Emphasis on more. It completely poured last night and it's doing the same right now. Just flat out miserable. And oh yeah, while it's 70 now, the past few days were in the 50s. And if you recall me saying a few weeks ago, the weather was in the 90s for several days straight in April! Bizarre....bizarre....

Why the Phoenix Coyotes should NOT re-locate to Hamilton, but rather, somewhere else (Puck the Media)
Good luck to any and all of those out there that are currently taking AP tests! Having been through the process myself and seeing some friends go through it now, believe me, it can be tough and stressful. Hang in there and you'll do great!

The season finale of Lie To Me is next week. If you have not seen the show yet, I'm telling you, it is worth checking out. Awesome, awesome show and last night's show was one of the best of the season and it ended with Dr. Lightman getting a body guard, for lack of a better term. It's on next Wednesday at 8 PM on Fox.
This blog has become more than I ever thought it would be. And while it my no means is a "big name" like Deadspin or Awful Announcing, the fact that I have developed a few regulars, even if it is only 4 known commenters, is something that makes me proud. Thanks for all of the support, guys!

Song of the Day: "Second Chance" by Shinedown
I guess I should really put this up here before the radio overplays it. It's just an awesome, awesome, awesome song and truly one of my favorites of all-time. And lucky me (and for you cause it's good), I've actually got the official music video by Shinedown themselves! Which is rare because Shinedown (and/or their label) more so than others are very strict with not allowing their music videos on YouTube and they do not put it up themselves. Enjoy The Greatness That Is Shinedown!
