Before I stopped watching WWE last spring, I had followed it religiously for over 10 years (I just got sick of it and stopped watching). And thus speaking as someone who knows quite about WWE, I have never seen anything like this happen before. As we all know, wrestlers' personalities are not what they are on camera. Some of them, even the heels (a.k.a. the bad guys), are supposedly the nicest people you could ever meet. Others, such as Randy Orton, are reportedly complete douche bags outside of the ring. And then there's Chris Benoit who took steroids and went crazy. However, what's surprising about the following video is that I never saw Chris Jericho being involved in something like this.
In defense of Chris Jericho though, he was provoked and the security did jack-shit to help him. I think that they actually may have been protoges of Paul Blart. Anyway, the good news is no one was severely hurt that I know of and as soon as he was physically able to, Chris Jericho got the heck out of there.
Stay classy, WWE Fans and Chris Jericho.
Stay on the valium, WWE security in Vancouver.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I Introduce To You The UFL!
What do the World Football League, the United States Football League, and the XFL all have in common? If you answered, they are all failed football leagues, you are correct!
So now, soon to be added to that list, I give to you the United Football League! That's right the UFL is starting up in October. No, I am not joking. Yes, someone is actually trying to start a football league in these economic times. Yes, they are essentially going to try to compete with the NFL and college football. And yes, I think these people may be officially insane.
From Reuters....
unfortunate cities that will host the original 4 UFL teams.
New York/Hartford, Connecticut (I really wish I was making this up.)
Las Vegas/Los Angeles
San Francisco/Sacramento
Orlando, Florida
Games will be played on Thursdays and Fridays with one planned national game of the week (Anyone want to bet that ESPN will pick up the UFL?) and the excitement will culminate with a national championship game on Thanksgiving!
I guess you could always look on the bright side of this whole story, Vince McMahon is no longer the biggest idiot in the history of football.

The United Football League said on Monday it will kick off league play in October, with four teams playing games in seven cities.Oh Yay! Another football league that will fail! I'm so giddy! And as if the excitement was not great enough, here are the four
The four teams playing in the first season is short of the six to eight the smaller rival of the National Football League had hoped to open with and league executives blamed the recession.
"The combination of the recession and the recent troubles on Wall Street left many investors unable to make the commitment we required for overall financial stability," The UFL said in a statement.
"There is no question that the economy has played a role in our decision-making and will continue to do so for the unforeseen future," it added.

The Top 10 Things We Have Learned From This NFL Season
After the typical anticlimatic Pro Bowl to conclude the NFL season, I figured it was time to look back at the top 10 moments/people/ideas that came out of this season, not just from the Eagles but from the entire season.
10. Matt Cassel, who has not started a game since high school, will soon be a multimillionaire, by doing exactly what he has not done since high school!
9. This defensive scheme from John Marshall will guarantee that your team sucks. Good luck Oakland!
8. The referees clearly do not care about you and your bets.
7. At times this year, the Eagles looked like the 07 Patriots, at other times they looked like the 08 Detroit Lions, and yet, they made it to the NFC Title game.
6. The Arizona Cardinals played the entire month of December like the 08 Detroit Lions and yet they were 35 seconds away from winning a Super Bowl.
5. If the Chinese could give this NFL year a name, they would say it was The Year of the Cock. For futher evidence, ask Chris Cooley, Visanthe Shiancoe, and the viewers of Comcast Cable in Phoenix Arizona.
4. Just because Detrois is pretty close to Canada, does not mean that they play by the CFL rules! Somebody forgot to tell Dan Orlovsky that.
3. Mike Singletary is who we thought he was.
2. James Harrison is a beast.
1. Larry Fitzgerald is the king of all beasts.

Pro Bowl Live Blog 2nd Half
We had that whole stage set up for one song? Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I'd have rathered listen to The Boss again.
After a piece on Ralph Wilson, Carney kicks it off to Washington who laterals it to Grififn who takes it all the way to the 40! A holding on the AFC though will move it back behind the 20. A gain of 4 by Jones. Collins passes it to Tony Gonzalez for a gain of 15 yards and a first down. Jones gets the carry and he picks up 6. Jones carries it for a couple yards. 3rd and 2 coming up. Kerry Collins misses Wes Welker and the AFC will punt it away. Smith fields the punt at the 7 and he takes it all the way to 29! Nice return of 23 by Smith.
Enrique Iglesias gets to perform at halftime while his father, Julio, prepares for the NFL Draft. (SSReporters)
I could actually imagine Julio in the NFL. I don't think the Post ever corrected that error, either. And on comes Eli Manning for the NFC. Let's see just how unstoppable he really is. Manning finds Boldin for a gain of 3. Michael Turner picks up a couple on his first carry of the game. Manning on 3rd and 4 finds Fitzgerald for a first down inside AFC territory!
Superman officially has a pair of Larry Fitzgerald underwear. Turner gets a yard. Manning is looking for Sellers but it's knocked away by Troy Polamalu
"Cardinals have not played with a lot of exposure over the past few years." - Al Michaels
Eww. Manning fakes the handoff, under pressure, and HE'S SACKED BY DWIGHT FREENEY! Peyton does not know who to cheer for now. Washington fields the punt at the 10 and gets to the 11 on a 1-yard punt return.
So that's why they've been running, Marty has been calling the plays! (SSReporters)
Marty can be just as bad as Andy, trust me. Brown catches Collins' pass for a gain of 4. Marshall makes the catch at the 29 for an AFC first down. Collins finds Gonzalez for big gain of 22! I'm smelling an MVP award for a certain Kansas City tight end. Wayne makes a catch for 6 yards. Ronnie Brown gets the carry for 9 yards and a first down.
From the NFC 38, Brown gets the handoff and a gain of 6 to the NFC 32. Collins pass is INTERCEPTED BY ANTOINE WINFIELD! Winfield gets 19 yards on the return to the NFC 30! That drive looked like it was going to get at least 3 points as well.
Interesting that NBC is playing a Fall Out Boy song that contains the lyircs "We will never believe again" to bump us to commercial.
Manning fires over the middle to Roddy White who makes a nice catch for a gain of 26 yards! Screen to Peterson and he makes several defenders miss while picking up 13 and a first down! And is it possible for Andy Reid to have a lead in the Pro Bowl? Manning airs it out to the endzone and IT'S PICKED OFF BY REVIS WHO MADE AN EXCELLENT ONE-HANDED GRAB!
Sorry for jinxing you there, Andy. Lynch picks up 3 on the carry. Collins drops back to pass and HE'S STRIPPED OF THE BALL BY JARED ALLEN WHO RECOVERS THE FUMBLE AND TAKES IT INSIDE THE 10!
Peterson takes the handoff AND HE BURSTS THROUGH THE DEFENSE ON HIS WAY TO THE ENDZONE! TOUCHDOWN NFC! The extra point by Carney is good and the NFC leads for the first time today, 17-14.
Andy Reid's winning a Pro Bowl! Andy Reid's winning a Pro Bowl! Is this the Apocalypse?
And can I just say how Adrian Peterson made a bunch of NFL all-stars look like high school students on that touchdown run? Leon Washington once again laterals the kickoff return to Michael Griffin who goes backwards and ends up at the 13. That play will now be written into Andy Reid's playbook.
Collins FUMBLES THE BALL AGAIN! But this time it's recovered by Marshall at the AFC 5, but nonetheless a loss of 8 yards. Justin Tuck jumps offside. Collins misses Andre Johnson on the pass and it's 3rd and 13 for the AFC.
Collins has his arm batted on that 3rd down pass and the ball wobbles as it falls incomplete. Lechler to punt it away with Smith to return it. Lechler booms one that's taken by Smith to the NFC 35. A 60-some yard boot, impressive on the part of Shane Lechler. And if you're Al Davis, it's very sad knowing that you're only consistent Pro Bowler is your punter.
"Look at the moves inside the hole." - Collinsworth (SSReporters)
Manning misses Jason Witten on the pass. And T.O. is now angry because Manning talked about plays with him. NOW IT'S MANNING FUMBLING THE BALL! Adrian Peterson recovers though and takes the loss of 7.
3 down and 1 to go in the Pro Bowl, 17-14 NFC.
Ah yes, it's always intersting to see what these players will do for an additional $22,500. False start on the NFC and it's now 3rd and forever. Manning finds Smith for a big gain of 17, but it's not enough for the first down.
And yay, we can have overtime! This will confuse Andy Reid greatly if we end up at that point. The punt is taken by Washington at the 11, and I suspect we'll see Jay Cutler for the first time today. And it looks like I'm right, on comes Cutler. Handoff to Washington who scampers for a big gain of 20 yards! Cutler swings it to Welker for a gain of 3. Cutler finds Andre Johnson over the middle for a gain of 11 and a first down.
Message to Andy Reid: TRADE FOR ANQUAN BOLDIN!
Lynch gets a couple yards on the catch. Cutler misfires on 2nd down and it's now 3rd and 8 for the AFC. Cutler rolls out and he finds Reggie Wayne who makes a great catch around 2 defenders for a first down inside NFC territory! Ronnie Brown rumbles to the 32 and with a gain of 8. Cutler swings it to fellow Bronco Brandon Marshall who for no gain. 3rd and 3 and Marshawn Lynch EXPLODES THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF A DEFENSE! Gain of 17 and a first down at the NFC 16. Lynch gets the carry and a gain of 3. Ronnie Brown takes the carry and gains 8 yards for a first down at the NFC 5-yard line!
1st and goal, Cutler throws the fade to Marshall who makes the catch in the endzone, but they rule it out of bounds! And it looks like they got the call right, although it really does not matter because there is no replay in the Pro Bowl. It's now 2nd and goal. And the AFC run a MODIFIED FUMBLEROOSKI THAT ENDS UP WITH LE'RON MCLAIN TAKING IT INTO THE ENDZONE FOR A TOUCHDOWN! The extra point is good and the AFC have taken the lead back, 21-17.
The fumblerooski.....unbelieveable. Clifton Smith with a huge kickoff return! All the way to the AFC 46-yard line! Manning hands it off to Portis who takes it inside the 45. Manning under pressure gets it off but it's dropped by Witten. 3rd and 8 coming up for the AFC. Manning fires to a wide open Anquan Boldin! 1st down for the NFC at the AFC 20! (TRADE FOR ANQUAN BOLDIN!)
A late unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on the AFC for illegal defense will be tacked on and the ball will be placed at the 10. Smith makes a catch at the 5 and he takes it to the 3. Well, it may be the Pro Bowl, but it has gotten a bit interesting. 2nd and goal coming up.
Eli Manning hands it off to Mike Sellers who makes it to the 1. 3rd and goal. Fade to Fitzgerald? YES! TOUCHDOWN NFC! Carney's PAT is good and with 4:03 to go, the NFC lead the AFC 24-21.
Forget the Pro Bowl, why don't we all watch 3-hours of Hula dancing? Carney's kick goes into the endzone for the touchback. Cutler throws for Gonzalez and he makes the catch at the 27. Lynch pushes the pile for a first down. Wow, Andy Reid has not wasted a timeout yet. That's an incredible feat for him.
Cutler tries to air it our for Gonzalez but it ends up out of bounds. Cutler finds Welker for a gain of 12 and a first down at the AFC 45. Ronnie Brown takes it up the middle for a gain of 4. Cutler's pass is TIPPED AND INTERCEPTED BY JULIUS PEPPERS! That may have wrapped it up as he takes it to the AFC 31!
Manning hands it to Peterson who gets a yard. Timeout AFC. REID'S GOING FOR THE WIN!.......AND MANNING OVERTHROWS FITZGERALD! FIRE ANDY REID! Manning misses Peterson who, if this was not the Pro Bowl, would have been KTFO (Passing in a 4-minute situation.....FIRE ANDY REID!). Carney comes in to attempt a 48-yard field goal. It's UP......AND GOOD! 27-21 NFC.
Leon Washington may have just had the most exhillerating kickoff return to ever only make it to the 15-yard line. Here comes Cutler to lead a potential game-winning drive with 1:55 to go. Going bold....
Jay Cutler looks for Brandon Marshall on the pass but he can't come up with it. Cutler heaves one over the head of Gonzalez and it's 3rd down. 1:44 to go. Cutler under pressure and he fires it into the dirt! 4th down coming up! Here we go, 4th and Pro Bowl. Can the AFC mount a comeback? Will the NFC hang on? Let's find out. Cutler launches one OVER THE MIDDLE THAT MISSES TONY GONZALEZ AND THE NFC WILL TAKE OVER!
AFC does have 2-timeouts to work with. Manning takes a knee and the AFC calls timeout. Manning hands it off to Peterson who bounces to the outside and stays inbounds for a gain of 9! Timeout NFC with 42 seconds to go. 3rd and 1. Peterson falls down on the carry and can't get the first down. Timeout NFC. On will come John Carney to try and cement this one for the NFC. From 26-yards out, John Carney's kick is GOOD! 30-21 NFC.
And the AFC is trying the lateral on the kickoff again and it back fires again. Washington gets taken down at the 15. AND THAT'S IT! The AFC will just take a knee and concede the additional $22,500 to the NFC. 30-21 the NFC defeats the AFC in the 2009 Pro Bowl. Thanks you for joining me for this live blog, I hope this game did not bore you too much, and I'll see you around.

Pro Bowl Live Blog 1st Half
It's Pro Bowl time and of course, we're getting the beautiful Hawaiian weather shoved down our throats to begin with. And wow, Al Michaels looks odd without a suit and tie.
"This is the 30th anniversary of the Pro Bowl in Honolulu. It's the 30th anniversary of John Madden not getting on an airplane." - Al Michaels
"We go from double express-o last week to decafinated this week." - Cris Collinsworth comparing the Super Bowl to the Pro Bowl.
Wow, the jerseys are uglier than ever this year. Get ready for fun!
Note to David Archuleta: It is customary to start singing the National Anthem after the audience is finished applauding your name. And wow, I'm impressed. He did what everyone should do and just sing the song and not try to show off your lungs with how well you can hit a high note.
"Cris, I don't know if Ray Lewis knows what an exhibition game is." - Al Michaels
"There are more made up rules here than with you on a golf course." - Cris Collinsworth.
Hilarious! Gostkowski will kick it off to Clifton Smith of the NFC and we are underway. He'll take a knee and on will come Kurt Warner. And oh my God, these uniforms are downright laughable!
Warner hands it off to Adrian Peterson who takes it to the 25. Another surprise, Andy Reid calls a handoff on the first play! Warner connects with Fitzgerald for 8 yards and a first down. Portis takes it to the 39 on the carry. Portis loses a yard. Warner on 3rd down misses Anquan Boldin and we start things off with a punt. Nothing out of the ordinary here for Andy Reid.
Feagles gets a great roll on the punt and it's downed at the 3 by Clifton Smith.
Andy is freaking me with that shirt. (SSReporters)
You and everyone else watching. Manning passes short to Brandon Marshall and he gets 20. Manning throws it to Andre Johnson and he gets 18. Thomas Jones gets a couple on the carry. Manning launches one deep and Marshall can't come up with it! Manning looks for Tony Gonzalez and he makes a great catch for a first down! The AFC is already inside field goal territory.
Manning overthrows Marshall. Manning finds Reggie Wayne for a gain of 4. Peyton is under pressure and he throws to Jones for 6 and he stretches for the first down! Wildcat! Ronnie Brown gains 3 as Leon Washington who was behind him ran the wrong way. Manning goes for the endzone, AND IT'S CAUGHT BY TONY GONZALEZ! TOUCHDOWN AFC! The extra point by Gostkowski is good and it's 7-0 AFC.
Typcial start to an Andy Reid coached Pro Bowl.
In the time it took to complete that play, Manning shot 7 commercials. (SSReporters)
Eli is currently shooting 10 commercials on the sideline. Smith has quite the exhilerating return to the 25. I thought for a moment he might be able to break it.
Kurt Warner is getting the Donovan McNabb treatment. Damn, Andy Reid is vengeful. Drew Brees is already in the game. Brees finds Sellers for 7. Brees passes to Fitzgerald for a gain of 6 and a first down. Brees looks for Anquan Boldin and it's incomplete. Brees finds Steve Smith for a gain of 16 and a first down. Nice throw by Brees. Brees screens it to Portis and he takes it to the 41. It's nice to see that Drew Brees is not playing like Kevin Kolb did.
Portis to the outside and he takes it inside the AFC 40. 3rd down coming up. Brees goes deep for Anquan Boldin but it's overthrown and incomplete. I guess we're going to be seeing Eli Manning in the next series.
Oh wait! Andy Reid's going for it! Brees is SACKED FROM BEHIND BY MATHIS! BREES FUMBLES AND MATHIS FALLS ON THE BALL!
Didn't I tell you that Andy Reid in the Pro Bowl is great comedy?
NOW Andy will go for it on 4th down? (Fire the Fat Ass)
Manning goes deep and it's caught by Wayne! Gain of 22 on that great catch. Ronnie Brown gets a gain of 3 on the carry. Manning under pressure on 2nd down and he is SACKED BY PEPPERS! Loss of 6 on the play and I would not mind seeing him in an Eagles uniform at all. It's now 3rd and 13 and the AFC calls a timeout.
Manning under pressure again and he is SACKED AGAIN! This time it was Justin Tuck.
"Sometimes in the Pro Bowl, a coverage sack is worth a double replay." - Cris Collinsworth
Lechler's punt is fair caught by Smith at the 12. Brees airs it out for Fitzgerald and misses him badly.
"Brees in the breeze." - Al Michales
Groan. Peterson takes it to the 18. Brees throws it to Witten and that's a first down for the NFC.
That's the end of the first quarter. 7-0 AFC in an unusually low-scoring Pro Bowl.
Brees hands it off to Roddy White and he gets 7. Wow, an Andy Reid trick play that did not lose yards. That's a rarity! Brees under pressure and he finds Peterson for a couple and Brees is just lucky he was not sacked. 3rd and short and leave it to Reid call a 5-yard throw to Steve Smith but it results in a big gain of 20! I'm pretty sure that was the most threatening play call ever. What on earth was that? Brown on the wildcat gets SACKED FOR A LOSS OF 8! That was ugly. Marshall makes the catch for a gain of 8. 3rd and 10 coming up. Andy Reid decides that now is a good time to waste his first timeout.
Manning throws to Gonzalez who makes a catch along the sideline for a gain of 15! And just a little FYI, Andy Reid has never coached well against Peyton Manning. "John Madden looking good in that 36 inch waste." - Cris Collinsworth
"The last time I had a 36 inch waste I think was in the 8th grade." - John Madden
Clifton Smith gets a big return to the NFC 45! Let's see how Andy Reid messes this drive up. Brees tries to screen it to Peterson and it's incomplete. Brees hands it off to Adrian Peterson who takes it to the AFC 45 and the NFC calls their last timeout.

And what a way that was to end the first half. That Larry Fitzgerald touchdown catch has the NFC within 4 of the AFC, 14-10. Enjoy Enrique Iglesias and Ciara and I'll see you in the 2nd half thread.

Didn't I tell you that Andy Reid in the Pro Bowl is great comedy?

Pro Bowl Live Blog Pre-Game
Well, it may be the Pro Bowl and I'll probably lucky if I get 10 combined comments throughout the game, but Andy Reid is coaching and I almost feel compelled to document the hilarity. Besides, I like all of the crazy plays the Pro Bowl produces because of it's stupid rules.
In a game of offense, I think the NFC's offense is better than the AFC's offense. Now if this were to be a normal football game with normal rules, I would take the AFC for their defense, but in a game where we constantly see offense dominate and the defenses rendered useless, I'm taking the NFC. Feel free to leave your predictions in the comments section and we'll be getting underway at 4:30. See you then!

More Eagles Off-Season Rumblings
The rumors are flying as to what the Eagles may or may not do this off-season, but whatever it is, it looks like they are going to try to pull off something big. Right now the 3 biggest names flying around in free agency for the Eagles are all players to die for, and frankly, I'd be giddy if we sign any one of them. Wouldn't it be great if the Eagles can sign:
T.J. Houshmandzadeh and/or
Anquan Boldin and/or
Julius Peppers.
T.J. Houshamanilly......CHAMPIONSHIP!
And these are not just my fantasies. Here is a link All Philadelphia Sports that has links to other sources that are rumoring and/or speculating these moves. As far as the draft goes, even though I absolutely despise Ohio State, I would be eccstatic if the Eagles can come up with Chris "Beanie" Wells. He is what the Eagles need, and frankly, he is what Westbrook needs. If they can become a "Smash and Dash" team with Wells being smash and Westbrook as Dash, the pressure will be completely off Donovan McNabb, and that, in turn, may help eliminate some of his inconsistencies. And that's just their first pick. The Eagles other biggest concern is offensive tackle with the aging Jon Runyan needing surgery. There's a concern in me that Wells will indeed fall to the Eagles and the Eagles will pass him up (Andy Reid has never taken a bruising running back high in the draft), however, the Eagles very rarely pass up a chance to draft a good potential lineman (Almost all of the Eagles first round draft picks are linemen, both offensive and defensive).
