There's an old-saying that goes if you have 2 goalies, that means you have none, and that's exactly what the Flyers are looking at. When one goalie is not sick with the flu, they are blowing their chance to take the starting job for the Flyers. Biron had the starting job, but before last weekend, he had not won a game since the beginning of January. It was them up to Antero Nittymaki to grab the reigns and had he not given up 5 goals to Ottawa, he very well could be the starter now. However, the fact that all of a sudden Biron got a chance again over the weekend and he is playing like he is capable of, begs the question to ask, do the Flyers trade him anyway to get someone who they feel is more consistent, such as rumored possibilities of Manny Fernandez, Niklas Backstrom, or Nikolai Khabibulin? As the deadline approaches it will be interesting to see what happens, and Biron's play down the stretch, including tonights' game against Buffalo could determine a lot.
Aspeaking of tonight's game, I'm thinking of doing a live blog of the Sabres-Flyers game (even though it's just a local game) and/or Villanova's game against Rutgers. I'll see what I can get to and hopefully I'll see you around tonight.
Update: I'll be live-blogging Rutgers-Villanova tonight at 9. We have John Saunders and Len Elmore on the call, so I would advise not watching the game with a blanket unless you're sick and/or you want to fall asleep. I'll see you hear at 9!
