Happy Birthday, Caleb Michael Hamels!

It is well documented that Heidi went into labor while Cole Hamels was on the mound yesterday in Philadelphia. Well, apparently the baby decided to pull a JFein and poor Heidi was in labor overnight until the baby was born at 9 AM this morning. From 6ABC

Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels and his wife are proud new parents of a baby boy.

His wife, Heidi Hamels, delivered a baby at 9:00 a.m. Friday.

He's named Caleb Michael Hamels.

Happy birthday, Caleb! And congratulations to Cole and Heidi! I stand corrected from yesterday, today is probably the greatest day in Cole's life. However, a part of me does wonder exactly what young Caleb's reaction will be when he first sees this video. (FYI, Heidi is the blonde)

Despite The Loss, Today Is Quite Possibly The Greatest Day In Cole Hamels' Life

After a solid turned subpar performance in Game 2, giving up 4 runs in 5 innings, Cole Hamels left the stadium quite urgently. No, he was not mad at himself. No, he did not have a fall out with Charlie Manual. Just the typical everyday occurance of his wife going into labor with a baby! From Yahoo! Sports

Hamels left the ballpark to be with his wife, a former “Survivor” contestant, who went into labor with the couple’s first child on Thursday.

Hamels was notified after he was lifted that his wife went into labor. Manager Charlie Manuel said the distraction possibly affected Hamels’ performance.

“It could have bothered him, yes,” Manuel said

I'm not sure what got into Hamels' head, but despite a rough 1st inning he was looking very good on the mound until Torrealba jacked one. It's at that point that he could not find his rhythm.

Everybody is saying that everybody knew nothing in terms of Heidi and while it was known that she was due anyday, no one knew that she had gone into labor. But surely that had to have entered Hamels' mind during the game and the pitch that Torrealba jacked, a curve ball, is Hamels' 3rd pitch and when he can hit his spots with the curve, with the way he throws a fastball and change up, he becomes unhittable, but when it's off, homeruns happen. Now I'm not saying that Heidi's condition affected his performance nor is it an excuse, but if something like that is in your mind and you are working on a pitch that you have not mastered yet, I find it hard to belive that there was no affect on him.

Regardless, congrats to Cole and Heidi! May the kid have a happy and healthy life and not named Yorvit, Torrealba, or Troy.

Hank Baskett Is Not The Only Philly Sports Player With A Smokin' Hot Girl Expecting A Baby

I can't believe I missed this headline a couple weeks ago! Kendra is not the only one with a bun in the oven. Cole Hamels' wife, the wonderful Heidi is 6-months pregnant and will be having a baby boy! Via CSN Philly

Comcast SportsNet’s Leslie Gudel learned that Cole and Heidi Hamels are expecting their first child at the end of this summer. According to Gudel, Heidi is nearly six months pregnant and the couple will learn the sex of their first child on Monday.

The Hamels were planning on traveling to Ethiopia to adapt a child in December, but because of the pregnancy will push off those plans until next April.

The sex was revealed on that Monday to be a boy (I think, going on hearsay on I was told earlier today). Regardless, congrats to Cole and Heidi! Although, I'm sure that this will be one very embarrassed boy when he finds out that his mother did this on national TV (Warning: even though this is a clip from Survivor on CBS, it is still rather NSFW).



If only I could have been out in the Amazon with them at that time!!!!!!!!! Good times for Heidi Stroebel Hamels (although she was just Heidi Strobel at the time)......gooooooood times.

Hank And Kendra Have Tied The Knot

Kendra Wilkinson and her Philadelphia Eagle honey, Hank Baskett, tied the knot Saturday night at the Playboy Mansion, E! News has confirmed.

Paparazzi swarmed outside the gates and security was tight as about 300 guests—including man of the house Hugh Hefner and Wilkinson's roommates turned bridesmaids, Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt—witnessed the duo exchange vows on the mansion's front lawn, next to the famed wishing well.

"I could not be more delighted," Hefner told E! "This is one of the happiest days in one of the happiest places on earth."

But though there had once been talk of Hef doing the honors, Wilkinson's brother, Colin, was the one to give her away.

"Watching Colin walk Kendra down the aisle was really emotional and beautiful," the bride's mom, Patty Wilkinson, said. "She looked breathtaking."

Baskett popped the question in November after a fairly short courtship, and the betrothed duo happily confirmed to E! News earlier this month that they're expecting their first child together this winter.

"We don't officially know, but we keep saying he because we don't want to say it," Wilkinson told the Awful Truth this week. "The doctor kind of said he thinks it's a boy. But we don't know for sure yet."

Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson has a lil’ bunny in the oven.

“Hank and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our first child together,” Kendra said to E’s Marc Malkin. “We are touched by the outpouring of support by our family, friends and fans.”

Kendra, 23, and NFL player Hank Baskett, 26, got engaged in November and are set to wed June 27th at the Playboy Mansion.

How an undrafted wide receiver ends up with a Playboy playmate will forever be beyond me. Maybe there's more to Hank than we are aware of. In all seriousness though, congratulations to Hank Baskett and Kendra Wilkinson (soon to be Kendra Baskett or Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett) and all the best to Hank and Kendra and their families in the future and may their child be a happy and healthy one!
