The Women's Professional Soccer Championship Game Was A Squirrely Affair

From the Women's World Cup to today's crazy WPS championship game, this has been quite the year for Women's soccer. And while the women's World Cup was pure drama, today's WPS Championship game between the Western New York Flash and the Philadelphia Independence was not only dramatic, but very odd as well. Especially in the first half when a squirrel ran onto the pitch and delayed play for well over five minutes. Watch as Philadelphia Independence goalkeeper Nicole Barnhart makes a new friend and two adults drag it off the field with the aid of a box.

After a thrilling 120 minutes, which featured a late from the Independence just before extra time to tie the game at 1, WNY Flash won the championship in a 5-4 penalty shootout. No word yet on what has become of the squirrel, although I can confirm it now has its own Twitter account.

The Cleveland Indians Love Seagulls

I've seen numerous bizarre things, but a line drive that hits a seagull resulting in a game-winning RBI is something that I have never seen before and may never see again. Here's the video (thanks to Keith's Sports Journal for the video)

"This one's for the birds."

Indeed, Mr. Cleveland Indians Play-by-play announcer whose name I don't know. Too funny!

Cricket Is A Dangerous Sport For Pigeons

Poor little pigeon never saw it coming.....

I honestly feel bad because I have a lot of friends and family who are animal lovers (and in turn have influenced me a bit on the issue of animal rights), but I just can't stop laughing at this video. Maybe it was the way the announcers described it for the fact that it was practically a one-in-a-million type of shot, but that is funny. RIP pigeon who died at a cricket game....we hardly knew ye.

If You Think You've Seen Random Graphics Before, Wait Until You See This

This has nothing to do with sports, but this is one of the most random, most sadly hilarious things I may have ever seen. Sadly, a girl was kidnapped 8-years ago, the good news is is that they may have a suspect. I know nothing about this case, but I'm fairly certain this is the wrong suspect.

I almost feel bad for laughing, but I just can't help it. It has to be almost insulting for the family of the girl who was kidnapping, but not only did they post the picture of the suspect as a hampster, but that is easily the weirdest looking hampster I have ever seen. Why on earth would a news station even have a picture of a hampster holding a movie camera slate?

The good news is is that Rodney Stanger is not a hampster (at least not that we know of). Hopefully the girl is all right and she will be able to see her family and friends once again.
