This Has Not Been An Easy 44 Hours For Me

Ever since our heroes last were on a baseball field 44-hours ago, triumphant 8-6 over the New York Yankees, my stomach has been in knots in anticipation for this game and this moment. It may not be 1999 anymore, but Pedro Martinez and Andy Pettitte are about to take the mound in Game 6 of the World Series. Just think about that. How great will this night be, even if the Phillies don't win. We are about to witness what might be one of the biggest World Series games of all time.

You don't think this is a big deal? Everyone in this whole area is up in arms over this series. You either support the Phillies or you support the Yankees, and everyone I've encountered in the past week has an opinion. The campus of Bloomsburg is literally split 50-50. 50% are Phillies fans. 50% are Yankees fans. I have seen as many A-Rod shirts as I have Utley and Howard shirts. Regardless of what happens, tonight, and I want this on record before hand as I'm not sure if I may be too nauseous to say this, but this has been a hell of a fun World Series and hell, I might by the complete DVD of this like I did with the Phillies-Rays series if the Yankees win.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the game. Game 6 of the World Series does not come around everyday.

Hold on a second, before I get some dinner and start the live blog, I need to feed Pedro his bottle.....

Despite the overbearing arrogance of it, unlike the Victorino in a cheerleader skirt cover at the start of the series, this cover is actually funny and it did get a chuckle out of them and not one of "HA, you guys are dreaming."

Are The Yankees And Their Fans Underestimating The Phillies?

If you are a fan of the New York Post, you would probably think that the series was already over. Yankee fans have a reputation for being cocky and confident and boy oh boy, do they ever ooze that in this New York Post article.

"The Yankees are going to make Philly cream cheese out of them," a confident Tommy Bayiokos, 44, predicted yesterday in Midtown.

"Philly fans are a bunch of whiners and should learn how to dress. They should try reading GQ."

Living up to their second-class billing going into the start of the Fall Classic tomorrow, the Phils arrived in New York yesterday -- by train.

The less-than-grand entrance triggered a flood of invective from the Yankee faithful.

"Bleacher Bums get a bad rap," said Tanner McLoud, 42, of Long Island. "But if you've ever been to the old Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, you'd realize just how much worse Phillies fans are.

"You can't go to a game without getting booze thrown at you!"

"I don't have hate for Philly exactly -- they are like our redheaded stepchild," he said.

"It's like a nothing city. It's just insignificant in comparison to New York."

Another Yankee fan, Laura Nidelle, 24, insists the Yuengling-slinging rubes in Philly are uncultured and uninteresting -- and go to bed too early.

"I briefly lived in Philadelphia and I couldn't wait to get out," the Brooklyn writer said. "Their fans are whiners, the food is lousy and there is nothing to do.

"New York is all about being on top, with no excuses -- just like the Yankees."
I can hear in the back of my mind now all of the pathetic excuses made if the Yankees had to pitch CC Sabathia in Game 7, won that one, and then lost the World Series. Don't get me wrong, though, how it is now is exactly how I want this series.

I definitley think it would be a mistake to underestimate the Phillies. Just look at the Phillies last year. Everyone in Philly did not think they had a prayer and look at how it ended up. I can't say for sure that the Phillies will or won't win this series; the Yankees are a formidable opponent, who, unlike the Yankees of earlier this decade, have geled together and are playing as a cohesive team unit. My prediction is that this thing will go a minimum if 6, and frankly, I'm not going to even venture a guess as to who will win. One thing is for sure, though. The Phillies and the Yankees will be a World Series that you will never forget.

Welcome To Bizarre-O World: 13-Year Old Alfie May Not Be The Father After All

As a follow up to the story about the 13-year old dad that I told you about a week ago, I am about to do two things that I never thought I would ever do on this blog. The first one is to post a video from Fox News, the second is to agree with Bill O'Reilly. No blockquote this time, but rather I'm going to post this video from a Fox News Mobile update that was posted on Comcast.net.

"Are [the British public] as outraged as the American public about this? You've got the exploitation of a baby. You've got a 13-year-old boy who's ignorant, doesn't know what he's doing. You've got a 15-year-old mother who looks like, you know, total chaos. And you've got almost villanous parents." - Bill O'Reilly

My viewpoints don't always coinside with Mr. O'Reilly, but here I have to agree with him. Obviously O'Reilly could not say this (although I think he wanted to), but the mother seems like she is a total slut. I mean seriously, 5 guys at once???

The pressure is great to have sex as teenagers when you're hormones are running wild, but you somehow have to control them. By having unprotected sex and producing a child like this, you are ruining you're life, you are ruining your partner's life, you are ruining your child's life and it is just sad to see. And completely ignoring the financial situation, these kids can never lead a normal life again. And this does not just go for Chantelle and whomever the father may be, but for young teenagers everywhere who think they are ready to be parents. They're not and from here on out there lives will always be attached to the child they conceive.

It's just a really sad situation all the way around, and it does not help the parents in this situation are greedy and would do anything for publicity and money. I am sorry, you just don't exploit teenage pregnancies like this for money, as it appears to be the case here. It's sad, it's pathetic, and it's wrong.
