We all know that for the sake of saving time, that various media outlets will type ads before something happens in sports just to be ready to advertise the moment it happens. Heck, kids in Somalia will think Kansas went to the Final Four in 2011. All that being said, it is still funny when a pre-prepared ads that should not be published get published anyway. Take for instance the Kansas City Star. "Kansas is through...and Jayhawks are blue" may be true, but you can still buy your Kansas Final Four tickets!
At least Kansas fans can still enjoy a one-hour massage.

Leonard Weaver Does Not Take Kindly To Some Criticisms
Leonard Weaver has always been one of the Eagles more mundane Tweeters. Want to know all about Leonard Weaver's tuna hoagie he ate for lunch? Follow him on Twitter and he will tell you. Want to know about the man who cuts Church Van's hair? He is more than willing to talk about his barber on Twitter. But when someone tweeted at him and criticized his post-season performance, it more than irked the normally mild-mannered Eagles fullback. All phillygm711 tweeted to Leonard Weaver was the following: "no more kissing your butt. You guys were ugly out there yesterday on offense. That performance in unacceptable on Sept. 12!" That sparked this reaction from Church Van. (screen shot from Weaver's Twitter account)
The performance was not exactly a startling one by the Eagles and @phillygm711 does have a right to criticize the performance as such. Nothing he said was over any reasonable boundaries, just what he saw last night. It is true that the Eagles did win the game, but the 1st team offense was at times dreadful to look at. That being said, Leonard Weaver does take criticism like that to heart and hopefully it can somehow motivate him and he can pass the message down to the rest of the 1st team offense (especially the offensive line; as the root of all the Eagles offensive problems lies in the piss poor protection by an offensive line so bad that most high school teams could out perform them), then it is all for the best, right?
On a mostly non-related topic, I think I might have to check myself in a psychological clinic. I have ESP. Those that took my advice to heart are filthy rich now.....provided you changed "game-ending" to "touchdown with 23 seconds left in the game."

The Hunger Strike Heard Round The Phillies Blogosphere
Those of you who follow me on Twitter (or follow my tweets with my handy-dandy Twitter widget along the side bar), are probably already tired of me talking about this. But on Wednesday at 5:05 The fearless leader of the Phillies humor blog, The Fightins, Mike Meech (meech.one) had his last meal. Later that day, as the Phillies were being shutout by the Mets, Meech tweeted that he would go on a hunger strike until the Phillies scored their next run. Per an interview he did with 97.5 The Fanatic this morning, it started out as a joke, but then people started egging him on, the Phillies kept not scoring, and Meech's pride got in the way of things. Now, it is nearly 48 hours since Meech last ate.
Last night, Meech went to a restaurant/sports bar with the Phillies on. Before the game, he ordered a stromboli in anticipation of when the Phillies scored, he would have something instantly to eat. The Phillies never scored. The stromboli now has a Twitter account.
After the game last night, Charlie Manuel gave what could be the best Phillies quote since Matt Stairs talked about how awesome it is to have guys hammer his ass, "Sometimes you eat the bear. Sometimes the bear eats you. Panicking ain't going to do no good."
Naturally, Meech replied: "And sometimes, you don't eat period."
The Phillies are playing the Florida Marlins in Florida tonight. If the Phillies score, Meech will finally eat again. If they don't score, Meech can add on to the purported 10 pounds he has lost in the past few days (tip for all you weight loss junkies: you wanna lose some lbs? go on a hunger strike!). In the meantime, in showing my solidarity with Meech, if the Phillies do not score a run tonight I will take a pair of shears and chop off my penis. That last sentence is a joke by the way.

Stewart Bradley Sticks Up For His Teammate
Donovan McNabb's passive aggressiveness has somehow landed DeSean Jackson in the WR diva role because McNabb is McNabb and the media eats up everything he says. Eagles middle linebacker Stewart Bradley has had enough of it and took to Twitter to stand up for his teammate and WR.
It is good to see that the Eagles have each other's backs like this early in the season. The first part of contending as a Super Bowl is coming together as a team and if Bradley's tweet about Jackson is any sort of microcosm of how the rest of the team feels, the Eagles are off to a good start.
