The Boston Bruins ECHL affilate, the Reading Royals, blew an 3-0 series lead and lost to the Cincinnati Cyclones.
The Boston Bruins blew an 3-0 series lead and lost to the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Boston Celtics were up 3-0 in the series to the Orlando Magic. It is now 3-2, the Celtics have injuries, and who knows what will happen to Kendrick Perkins.
I’m a little torn here. Because on one hand, I do enjoy seeing Boston sports fall back to earth after the ridiculous decade they just had of nothing but championships, but at the same time, I do not want the Flyers comeback to be forgotten about. If the Celtics manage to make 3 for 3 this year on 3-0 series leas choke jobs by a team from or affiliated with Boston, would casual sports fans and the mainstream media forget all about the Flyers? Would it diminish the feat at all? And if you are a Flyers fan who wants their epic comeback to be remembered by more than just yourself and fellow Flyers fans (and for that matter, Bruins fans), is this a comeback/collapse that you want to see happen?

The NBA Playoffs: Where Big Baby Davis With A Game-Winning, Series Tying Jump Shot Happens
I'm pretty that this video speaks for itself.
Just an incredible finish and an incredible shot by one of the most unlikely of players to take that shot. When I saw that Davis was taking that jumper I thought for sure that the Orlando Magic were one game away from the conference finals but low and behold, it went in and the Celtics have tied the series. Unbelieveable!
Meanwhile to wrap up the day in hockey news, all 4 series are going to a Game 6! Now that's amazing! I wonder if there has ever been a conference semifinals in any sport where all 4 games have gone into a Game 7. Now if that happens, that would truly be amazing. And us viewers we would be screwed up the ass because in its infinite wisdom, the NHL has scheduled 3 of those potential Game 7s on the same day (Carolina-Boston, Vancouver-Chicago, and Detroit-Anaheim on the 14th with Caps-Pens on the 13th).

I Submit To You Last-Minute Game-Winning Goal Version 4.0 (Plus I Finally Put Up The Video From Last Night's Celtics-Bulls Game 6 Instant Classic)
While the Bulls and Celtics may be having one of the greatest playoff series in recent memory, the rest of the NBA Playoffs has been lackluster and full of blowouts and predictable series. Meanwhile, from top to bottom, the NHL has been having what may be overall one of the greatest playoffs we have ever seen. And as evidenced, here is an NHL record 4th game-winning goal in the last minute of the post season. Think about that....NHL Record 4th game-winning goal in the last minute....THIS IS GAME 1 OF THE CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS! Unbelieveable. Nick Lidstrom, the floor (or in this case, ice) is yours....
Just unbelieveable. And seeing as I kind of jipped my NBA fans earlier by posting the Zito video instead of the Bulls-Celtics video from last night, I'll post it here anyway. The reason I did not post the Bulls-Celtics vid was becasue I was more into looking into particulars that I wanted on here (Noah, the block by Rose, etc. and I was too lazy and in too much of a hurry to link over to AA). So while I have a "Crazy Finish" post up, I guess you can enjoy for the 100th time now, what is without a doubt the greatest NBA game I have ever seen. For highlights of the end of regulation, we turn to AA's video.
Well, that was exciting, wasn't it? Well, if you have the time, here is the 3rd overtime in it's entirety starting with the end of the 2nd OT. (The video has been spliced into 3 parts and for those curious, I just discovered this video as I was searching YouTube).
Triple OT Part 1 (7.6 to go in 2nd OT to 1:42 to go in 3rd OT)
Triple OT Part 2 (1:39 to go in 3rd OT to 28.3 to go in 3rd OT)
Triple OT Part 3 (28.3 to go to the end of the game)
Simply amazing.

Ray Allen Is Sick
Even though I'm pretty much in love with all Philly sports, the struggling and inconsistent 76ers have never been my favorite. I don't hate them, it's just if there is one team in Philly I could do without it's the 76ers. I hardly watch their games (actually I've been so preoccupied that I've hardly watched the Flyers this year and I love the Flyers). And I'm also not that big on the NBA period. I feel as if it often times becomes more of a showcase than a competitive game (Which is contrary to college basketball, which is really beginning to creep it's way as one of my favorite sports next to college football and the NFL). That being said about the Sixers, this video from last night's Sixers-Celtics game is insane. The Sixers were up 99-97 on the Celtics (yes, were actually beating the Celtics!) with 5 seconds left when Ray Allen, who may have had the flu decided that he did not like overtime that much...
ONIONS! The Sixers are like baby seals and Ray Allen just clubbed them. And that would be Clyde Drexler's analogy, not mine.
FYI, I plan on doing a few Sixers/Flyers live blogs throughout this season. I haven't figured out what games I'm going to do yet, but I'll be sure to have a few for you up this year (if there's ever a national TV game or a big game, I'll try to do one).
