Tim Tebow Officially Becomes Friar Tuck

As a kid I loved Robin Hood. I used to watch the animated movie "Robin Hood" all the time. If you remember any of the "Robin Hood" movies or folklore you will remember Friar Tuck. Friar Tuck is a man of the cloth who is one of Robin Hood's Merry Men. If you remember all of this, then you certainly will remember Friar Tuck's haircut. The good friar was bald on top with a rim of hair going around his head.

I bring this up because of what happened to Tim Tebow over the weekend. Tebow, who is wildly known as a religious man, was given a Friar Tuck haircut as a part of rookie hazing.

Tebow claims his teammates gave him a "Statue of Liberty" haircut. Whatever he wants to call it, I like it. I like it because it wasn't above him to be ridiculed with a haircut. His teammates wanted to haze him and he let them. Dez Bryant could take a lesson from Tebow.

Pro Football Weekly's Latest Mock Draft Has An Interesting Choice For The Eagles At #24 Overall

24. Philadelphia Eagles
QB Tim Tebow, Florida

The careers of team president Joe Banner and GM Howie Roseman share some commonalities with Tebow's — a dogged determination defying the odds. As each day draws closer and NFL teams come to grips with the reality that is their NFL rosters, the value of quarterbacks in this draft continues to creep up, and by the time the draft kicks off in prime time, there is a very realistic chance of Tebow fitting into the first round. The Eagles had the deepest pool of talent at the QB position prior to dealing Donovan McNabb within the division and now have a vacancy with which to welcome Tebow with open arms. Banner's greatest strength has been preparing for the future, and if Kolb's contract can be extended now that McNabb is out of the picture, it will position the Eagles to deal him after developing Tebow for three years and give the Eagles another measure of protection, not to mention motivation for Kolb. Peria Jerry signed a five-year conract [sic!] totaling $13.25 million in this slot a year ago, with a more realistic value of $10.35 million over five years given incentives. If the Tebow experiment does not work out, the Eagles might be able to justify a $2 million annual salary in jersey sales. And given time to work his magic, Andy Reid has the incubator to build Tebow into a winner.
Uh........words can't describe this. The Eagles are going to forget about all of their pressing needs and select Tim Tebow. In the first round. I see.

Now if Tim Tebow drops to the 4th round or something, then yeah, think about taking Tebow as a QB to develop because the Eagles will likely be taking a 3rd string emergency QB at some point. But in the first round? When you have needs at safety, CB, D-line, and O-line? Incredibly nonsensical.

Also in this clusterfuck of a mock draft: Ndamukong Suh falls to Kansas City at #5, Earl Thomas falls all the way to #22 and New England.

After ripping apart this mock draft, all of this is now definitely going to come to life. Eagles will not trade up and take Tebow and Suh and Thomas will both fall. Such will be my life tomorrow, right?

Where Will Tim Tebow Play His Next Home Football Game? Don't Be Surprised If It's Philly

Before you burst out laughing, this is something I have thought about for a long time. Tim Tebow, arguably the greatest college football players of the decade, may very well end up an Eagle. And the funny part is, it may just make sense. And Reid damn sure would do it.

However, this early speculation depends on one thing happening. The Eagles let Vick go at the end of this year. Unlike some people around these parts, I have nothing against Vick, but the Eagles are only paying Vick $1.6 million. His contract contains only an option next year and that option, should the Eagles pick it up, is worth $5.2 million. If the Eagles do pick up that option, then the chance of Tebow coming here goes down significantly. But, with the lack of production of Vick and his desire to once again be a starting quarterback in the NFL, something he won't be in Philadelphia, he is going to want to go elsewhere and the Eagles may not be giddy to pay someone $5.2 million for 2 plays per game. I'll wish Vick all the best in his future endeavors assuming, but from a football standpoint, Vick has not necessarily been the unstoppable weapon that I think Reid wanted when he coerced the Eagles into signing him.

So if Vick goes, where will the Eagles go from there? For starters, they will only have two quarterbacks on their roster, Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb. Andy Reid may still want a little toy he can play around with.

Who better to fit both billings than Tebow? We all know that Tebow is currently a starting QB at Florida and we also know that the chances of Tebow actually being an everday starting QB in the NFL are quite slim at this point and that his best chances may be playing other positions. It's a perfect fit and a perfect replacement for Vick, and with the Eagles draft position, a real possibility. Look, there is a chance Daniel Snyder or Al Davis trade up to take Tebow in the top 10, undermining everyone, there is no doubt about that. But, if Tebow starts falling to the 20s where a lot of people are expecting him to go at this point, I would really anticipate Andy Reid making a move. I have read no reports that the Eagles are actually interested in such a move, this is all my speculation, but you are absolutely kidding yourselves if you think that this has no chance of happening.

Vick's option is too much for too little on-field production, the Eagles would be without a 3rd string QB, Andy Reid would be without a gadget, and Tebow would be able to do both. And the key word here is Andy Reid. Drafting Tebow is without a doubt something that he would do and if used in the manner that Vick is being used now, I think it might just be stupid enough to work. Just ignore the fact that media constantly develops hard-ones over him and look at what he does, he is a hard-worker, a great person off the field, and is someone who I believe has the capabilities to learn a complicated Eagles offense. If you think this is complete crazy talk, then you may be in for a rude-awakening on draft day.

So the Eagles draft Tebow? I'm not saying it will happen, but you better believe that it is a damn good possibility.

VIDEO OF EPICNESS: Tim Tebow Cries After Losing

Tim Tebow has been hailed by many as one of the greatest leaders in the history of college football. So after losing to #2 Alabama in the SEC championship game and despite knowing that he will still be in the BCS Bowl, what do you think Tebow did after the game? Picked up his team and gave them a motivational speech that there is always tomorrow? Did he tell him to forget about this and encourage them to look forward to the Sugar Bowl, like most leaders would in that situation? No. He sat on the bench and cried.

Awww, poor Timmy! He was so brave and courageous as he tried those tears of defeat!

On the plus side, he can be reunited with his biggest fan, Thom Brennaman in the Sugar Bowl. That should be good times for all.

Husky Barks: Bloomsburg 45, Millersville 10

It's official: Dan LaTorre is better than Tim Tebow.

Those were 2 awesome TD runs and I'm kind of disappointed that it did not show more of LaTorre's acrobats on the first TD (yes, there were more Eli Manning Super Bowl XLII-esque acrobatics in that play). And curse the camera angle. I was just a few rows behind the surfing Roongo, but from that angle, you can't see me. But if it was straight from the field, I'd be on the video!

Today Is A Somber, Somber Day In The Sports World....

.....St. Timmy of Florida is in the hospital after being knocked out of the game on a Taylor Wyndham sack that caused Tebow's head to bounce off the knee of his own offensive linemen knocking him unconscious. Here's the sad, sad video. I hope you have a hankey handy....

NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't Taylor Wyndham realize the dangers of what he might be doing when he heinously put a hit on poor St. Timmy when he was not paying attention. How dare he!!!! How dare he!!!!!! What a cruel heartless bastard!!!!!

And not only that, look at what has happened to Gary Danielson and Thom Brennaman!! Brennaman has lost the will to live and Gary Danielson has drinken 10 bottles of whiskey, in the past 30 minutes in an effort to erase his sorrows from this sad, sad day.

The good news Gator fans, many many Florida fans are lining up at the hospital willing to donate their skulls in order to save St. Timmy of Florida. It may be his only hope......However, even if his life is saved, Wyndham's hit as sadly knocked all of the superhumanness out of him. Instead of The Second Coming of Christ, I am sad to report that most religious experts are willing to concede that Tim Tebow is now the Second Coming of Jonathan Crompton.

Never Trust Someone In An Online Video Game Forum

As I reported in a post earlier this week, someone said that the Madden 2010 soundtrack, of which I eagerly anticipate, would be released Friday at 11:00. Well, it's now Saturday and no soundtrack has been released. Sigh......

Seeing as I'm sure I got a whole lot of hits at the 11:00 hour of all my gamer readers eagerly awaiting a post that never came, I guess I have to find a way to make it up to you. And lucky for you, I have the perfect video to do so! Enjoy the video and I'll get that soundtrack to you........sometime........eventually.....

TIM TEBOW YOU LIAR! We all know what happened between you and Thom Brennaman in the hotel room immediately following the BCS National Championship game!

Thom Brennaman Just Bought A First Class Ticket To Gainesville, Florida

Actually, Thom Brennaman may not make it onto the plane. He'll probably hyperventilate and pass out before he gets on there. Why all of the excitement from Thom Brennaman? It's because Tim Tebow's speech after the 31-30 loss to Ole Miss has been immortalized in a plaque at the University of Florida! Seriously. From the AP
Meyer had Tebow's speech engraved on a plaque and placed outside the front entrance to the new football facility at Florida Field. Although it might seem like a strange move since Tebow still has one year remaining with the Gators, Meyer said he didn't want to wait.

"I'm not interested in 10 years from now because who knows if we're — I might be toes up somewhere," Meyer said Wednesday as Florida opened spring practice. "I'm not a big fan of, 'Hey, let's wait down the road.' It was a speech that everybody in Gator Nation has a right to see on the side of the building."

Tebow's speech was an emotional promise he made after the Rebels upset Florida 31-30 on Sept. 27. Fighting back tears, Tebow vowed that no one would in the nation would work harder than him and his teammates the rest of the year. The Gators responded by running the table and beating Oklahoma 24-14 to win the program's second national title in three years.
And always remember, if you spend 15-20 minutes in Gainesville worshipping this plaque dedicated to Tim Tebow, your life will be better for it!
