Song Of The Day: "I Made It (Cash Money Heroes)" By Kevin Rudolf, Birdman, Jay Sean, Lil Wayne......And Joe Beninati?

Q102 has gotten real interesting with their music this week. In particular, inserting Joe Beninati quotes (along with other sportscaster quotes) into the song "I Made It" by Kevin Rudolf et. al. I can't find this on YouTube, so you have to Pop music fans will recognize this song from its constant play over the radio. WWE fans will recognize this as the theme song from WrestleMania. I am purely putting this up here for the Flyer coolness of it and the odd hilariousness of Joe Beninati's continued invasion of all things Philadelphia radio (he also appeared on 97.5 TheFanatic to discuss the Stanley Cup Finals series and picked the Flyers to win the whole thing). click on this link to listen to it.

Song Of The Day: The Caps Rap By Someone Who Has No Shame In Life

Seeing as I'm fairly lazy, I don't think Song of The Day will be returning full time, but this is too good not to pass up.

I've seen some pretty bad things in my life, and even though the Washington Capitals may have beaten the Flyers on the scoreboard yesterday, but after viewing this, I can safely say that the moral victory of the day was won by the Flyers and their fans when this video landed into the hands of Philly fans on Twitter.

Words can't describe the awfulness that is The Caps Rap, so I will just post it here and let you watch and laugh and sigh with me. I'm telling you it's like a car wreck, it's awful but you can't stop turning away from it.

First of all, what the hell? Secondly, WHAT THE HELL? Seriously? Is it possible to lose points in the standings if one of your fans goes on YouTube and does that?

Two things on the plus side, at least the Caps fans and Flyers fans can agree that the Penguins are Nature's Crybabies and secondly, it does give me satisfaction knowing that our very own kt1000 is a YouTube whose video has now been seen by over 50,000 people and is being linked throughout the hockey and CollegeHumor interwebs.

I just downloaded the new album yesterday and this is one of my favorites off of it. Enjoy it!

Song Of The Day Part 2: "Break" By Three Days Grace

I generally don't do this, but how could I ignore the new Three Days Grace single? Both must be posted! Upon learning of the new Breaking Benjamin single earlier today (even though it's been released for a couple months, I believe, but I just learned of it), I had no choice but to post both on here. Enjoy all you 3DG fans!

AWESOME!!! It's been awhile since a lot of my favorite bands came out with new albums, and now it feels like they are coming all at once. I love the new song and I can't wait to hear the rest of this album as well, to be released on September 22. I am giddy!

The new album comes out on September 29. I like what I hear so far, can't wait to check out the rest!

Song Of The Day: "Cold" By Crossfade

After a brief hiatus, Song Of The Day is back! Even though it's an older song, it's really been quite the addiction for me for the past month or so. I can't stop listening to it. Enjoy!

And just as a quick site announcement, I'm not sure how this is going to end up playing out, the information I have been given for this has been very vague thus far, but there is a chance that by the end of this year, I will finally reveal what I look like and what my voice sounds like. I'll keep tabs with you on this.

Song Of The Day: "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" By Sarge

Considering the Cubs tradition of having well known people occasionally sing Take Me Out To The Ball Game at Wrigley and that the Phillies are currently in town, there really is no better person to select to sing the song in the middle of the 7th than former Cub and Phillie and currently Phillies TV analyst for the 4th-6th innings, Gary "Sarge" Matthews. Ladies and gentlemen, accompanied by his grandson, here is Sarge singing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" at Wrigley!

All things considered, it was not ear-piercing like I thought it would been, which illustrates more of my expectations than the actual performance by Sarge. At the same time though, I think that the kid is a much better singer than Sarge. He may have a future. As far as Sarge goes, I'd tell him not to quit his day job, but seeing as he's horrible at said job as an analyst, it really might be for the better if he decides to sing full time. Hey, you never know. After all, if Ashlee Simpson can get a song played all over the radio, anyone can do it.

Song Of The Day: "Careless Whisper" By Seether

Enjoy this cover of the song by Wham! Personally, I love it, hen again, I'm a pretty big Seether fan and they are yet to do something that I have not liked.

Song Of The Day: "Smells Like Teen Spirit" By Nirvana

Make fun of me for this all you want, but there are only a real select group of artists and songs pre-1995 that I really like a lot probably because my parents used to love to play older music when I was younger and I just got so sick of hearing it. That being said, this song is probably by a mile, my favorite pre-1995 song, and wouldn't you know it, it's not a song that my aforementioned parents forced down my throat when I was younger like they did so many others.

Song Of The Day: "Fine Again" By Seether

This is what I was listening during the boring parts of last night's game to keep me awake as it had been a long day for me.

/Looking to find a way to make himself look cool again in terms of music after putting up Vitamin C yesterday'd.

Song Of The Day: "Graduation (Friends Forever)" By Vitamin C

A random, but heartfelt best of luck and congrats to the MHS Class of 2009 graduating today, and what do you know, there's rain and storms in the forecast tonight! And to think that before we graduated that the last 11 MHS graduations were held outdoors and presumably without hassle from Mother Nature. I guess ours extended the streak of outdoor graduation, but somehow, I don't think a day like 6/10/08 occured quite frequently for them.....Regardless, in honor of them, I will put up the incredibly corny song that MHS always uses on the morning student-produced TV news journal on the last broadcast before final exams and subsequently graduation.

And this will be the one time that I break my own rule of no song more than once. I will put this song up on the day of each subsequent MHS graduation for the length of time that I run this blog or any blog for that matter. On MHS graduation day, you can bank on seeing this song posted. ;-) It's amost like a rite of passage if you will, you're not an MHS grad until you choked up listening to this song while watching video from your last few days there.

Song Of The Day: "Something In Your Mouth" By Nickelback And "Face Down" By The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus

I do not understand how and why this song got played on the live speakers inside the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit last night.

Another song that I have frequently hear being played live at hockey games, although I did not hear it last night, is "Face Down" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Don't get me wrong, Face Down is a great song, but a song about that just has no business being played at sporting events where there are kids listening. And not that "Face Down" is graphic like the Nickelback song above, it just touches on a more mature subject, if you will that is not necessarily appropriate for the setting. And while I can't imagine you've never heard this song before, here is Face Down as well in case you don't know what I'm talking about.

Song Of The Day: "Rest In Pieces" By Saliva

See below post for why this song (or at least the first line of the song) pertains to the Carolina Hurricanes and in particular, Cam Ward.

Okay, so it's a sad song about a relationship gone bad (I can sort of relate to the first verse of this song), but the fact that Reaugh mentioned Ward's depth perception being off made me think of the line "my depth perception must be off again".

Songs Of The Day: "I Hate Everything About You" By Three Days Grace And "Remedy" By Cold

It's a twofer today. Why? Because I feel like it! ;-) First up, "I Hate Everything About You" by Three Days Grace.

And lastly "Remedy" by Cold (not to be confused with Coldplay) (the music starts at 19 seconds; sorry for the incredibly random AMV but this is the only high quality, non live version of the song I could find).

Song Of The Day: "The Freshmen" By The Verve Pipe

If you saw this last night, I f***ed up. I was setting this up so you would have some posts for tomorrow because I won't be around to type them as I work today. So yeah, this should not have randomly showed up at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, but rather 9:30 AM today, Wednesday May 13. If you have know idea what I'm talking about, then that's all the better.

Thursday Afternoon Links, Random Thoughts, And Song Of The Day: "Sound Of Madness" By Shinedown

Seeing as I've got nothing in particular as of now to post, and I'm bored now and I'm working tomorrow, I figured I would throw up one of these posts. I'll try to do this every Friday, but seeing as I probably won't be blogging at all until the open threads, I'm doing it today.

I've never seen weather like this before in my life. It has literally rained here for 8 straight days and if I recall correctly, this is the 9th straight day that we have gotten .o1" or more. Emphasis on more. It completely poured last night and it's doing the same right now. Just flat out miserable. And oh yeah, while it's 70 now, the past few days were in the 50s. And if you recall me saying a few weeks ago, the weather was in the 90s for several days straight in April! Bizarre....bizarre....

Good luck to any and all of those out there that are currently taking AP tests! Having been through the process myself and seeing some friends go through it now, believe me, it can be tough and stressful. Hang in there and you'll do great!

The season finale of Lie To Me is next week. If you have not seen the show yet, I'm telling you, it is worth checking out. Awesome, awesome show and last night's show was one of the best of the season and it ended with Dr. Lightman getting a body guard, for lack of a better term. It's on next Wednesday at 8 PM on Fox.

This blog has become more than I ever thought it would be. And while it my no means is a "big name" like Deadspin or Awful Announcing, the fact that I have developed a few regulars, even if it is only 4 known commenters, is something that makes me proud. Thanks for all of the support, guys!
