Leave thoughts and predictions before the game and leave analysis/thoughts/commentary/PbP/Announcer quotes during the games. I may be a little late today, but hopefully I'll be back in time for the opening faceoff at the Mellon Arena. Go Flyers!
Everyone is picking against the San Jose Sharks. Don't they realize the Sharks have the best record in the league?
ReplyDeleteSidney Crosby scors a PP Goal, but it's under review.
ReplyDeleteCrosby's goal counts!
ReplyDeletehopefully I'll be back in time for the opening faceoff at the Mellon ArenaEpic. Fail. Just got in now. I hate you, Sidney Crosby.
ReplyDelete"Kinky save there for Marty." - Jim Jackson
ReplyDeleteKinky?....I guess that's one way to describe it.
The CBC feed is 5 seconds ahead of Versus.
ReplyDeleteWhat a chance for Philly.
ReplyDeleteThe FSN Pitt feed is 5 seconds ahead of the CSN Philly feed as well. Odd.
ReplyDelete"He was a better man than he was a broadcaster, and he was as good as it got when it came to broadcasting." - Jim Jackson on Harry Kalas.
ReplyDelete"Gonna see a lot of whacking here." - Garry Galley
ReplyDelete1-0 Pens after 1.
ReplyDelete1-0 Pens at the first intermission.
ReplyDeleteSean Avery went Sean Avery in the Rangers/Capitals game.
ReplyDeleteHaha. What a douche bag. What did he do this time?
ReplyDeleteHe committed a dumb penalty.
ReplyDelete3 on 1 by the Pens and KENNEDY SCORES!!! 2-0!!
ReplyDeleteCrap. 2-0 Penguins.
ReplyDelete2-0 Pens
ReplyDeleteThis came could get ugly very quickly for your Flyers.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this is not going well for them.
ReplyDelete"This team can score goals." - Steve Coates
ReplyDeleteDean Brown just sucks the life out of every game he commentates.
ReplyDeleteQuite like Garry Galley though.
You can always turn on Versus and listen to Dave Strader and Billy Jaffe. ;-)
ReplyDeleteFlyers just got their first shot on goal this period. And we're only 12:30 into said period! Pathetic.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely not. I refuse to watch Versus. ;-)
ReplyDeleteRon MacLean has an update for us: Rangers 2 Caps 1.
Oof. New York 3, Washington 2. Exciting game.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Flyers need to play the rest of this game like they did in the last 90 seconds. Finally this team shows some life!
This Pens game is not too exciting to watch and the Flyers are not even threatening goal.
ReplyDeleteI'm having problems finding streams for the other 2 games that are on right now.
ReplyDeleteI am glad I don't watch many Hockey games on Versus.
ReplyDeleteThese guys can suck the life out of you.
Oh! The iron unkind for Mike Richards!
ReplyDelete/Brando'd in the Stanley Cup playoffs.
JFein, go to www.channelsurfing.net
ReplyDeleteThanks! Justin.tv is letting me down greatly today.
ReplyDeleteJustin is letting you down Justin? ;-)
ReplyDeleteMALKIN SCORES!!! HORRIBLE ERROR BY THE FLYERS!!! 3-0!! GAME 1 TO THE PENGUINS!
ReplyDelete"And then they had a Grateful Dead concert last night. I don't think the ice got any better last night." - Chicken Parm adding another reason aside from the ice's chippiness during the Frozen Four last week as to why the ice in the Verizon Center could be deteriorating.
ReplyDeleteFUCK!
ReplyDeleteYeah, and to think it's my site too! ;-)
ReplyDelete/That's sarcasm.
//I really don't own a large streaming website.
///I wish I did.
////I was waiting for someone to make that joke.
/////I don't know why I have so many /s.
SCORE!!! RANGERS LEAD 4-3!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, enthusiasm on a nationally televised game by someone not named Doc Emrick. I could get used to this....
Yes, I'm pretty much paying more attention to the Rangers game than the Flyers at this point. At least it's exciting.
Eaton scores. 4-0 Pens. This is depressing.
ReplyDeleteIt's 4-0 Pittsburgh now. Another goal. Think it was from the blue line without a deflection.
ReplyDeleteMark Eaton the goalscorer.
4-0 Pens
ReplyDeleteThis is just a continuation basically of the whipping last year by Pittsburgh.
ReplyDeleteDamn. As if this could not get any worse, I now lost the Rangers-Caps stream.
ReplyDelete"He is able to corral the puck before there is any loose change in front of him." - Chicken Parm
ReplyDeleteHuh???
Sean Avery is cut along his left ear. Serves him right.
ReplyDeleteGAGNE SCORES!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad that only makes it 4-1 Pens...
Gagne gets a consolation goal for the Flyers on a PP.
ReplyDelete"There's a couple of snipers there." - Garry Galley commenting on two guys in the press box shown on camera
Haha, Brown is laying into Galley for saying "shutout" mentioning Fleury. THE JINX LIVES!
ReplyDeleteAnd that pretty much explains that otherwise completely random goal by the Flyers.
ReplyDeleteRangers win 4-3 as my stream froze for the last 10 seconds as the Caps were threatening and then it skipped over what was surely an exciting finish.
ReplyDeleteBlues/Canucks next.
ReplyDeleteWhat games are you guys getting?
Flyers are going penalty happy.
ReplyDeleteTSN is currently simulcasting the Devils 4-1 romping of the Hurricanes with 8:20 to go in the game. And they're using the MSG+ feed. So at least I can listen to Doc Emrick now.
ReplyDeleteBill Guerin got walloped and we've got a fight going on. Ugly end to an ugly game.
ReplyDeleteI'll be watching a Blues/Canucks stream. It's the only other game on right now and Vs. is sending Rick Peckham and Daryl Reaugh to the game. I'm hoping I can get a CBC feed with Jim Hughson.
ReplyDelete"Sometimes you just get the wrong side of the puck." - Chico Resch.
You have TSN or you found a stream?
ReplyDelete4-1 win for Pittsburgh!
ReplyDeleteIt's official. Pittsburgh 4, Philadelphia 1. Game 2 is on Friday.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that the Flyers can just make that game more compelling, even though it would be ideal if they win it.
My theory when you're the road team in a playoff series is that the ultimate goal is to take 1 of the first 2 games (2 of 2 would be ideal but in a tight series, that can be asking too much) and for momentum sakes, it is certainly better for that 1 win for the road team to be the 2nd game so they have that momentum going into their building.
I found a stream. I wish I had TSN (and CBC).
ReplyDeleteBack at home I have DirecTV and even there I don't get TSN and CBC. Up here at college I get
ReplyDeleteESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, CSN Philly, FSN Pitt, Speed Network, and NFL-Network.
Even during a Devils broadcast Mike Emrick is good!
ReplyDeleteI like Jim Jackson and all, but man, I'm upset that Doc Emrick no longer works for the Flyers (he did so in the early 90s for a few years taking over for the late, great Gene Hart).
And as if this day was not already depressing as it is, I just realized that my new favorite TV drama, Lie To Me, was not on today.
ReplyDelete/Didn't tune in during Flyers game but checked tvguide.com just now.
"The Devils will have the edge of one after one night and that's all you can ask for during 1 night." - Doc Emrick with an uncharacteristically dumb comment.
ReplyDeleteDevils won 4-1.
And yep, I found a CBC stream!
I notice that HNIC airs the national anthems while Versus just goes back to Engblom's hair.
ReplyDeleteWow, Brian Blessed as really let himself go.
ReplyDelete/Sarcasm
They got a huge guy who sings Opera doing the national anthem.
ReplyDeleteCOME ON YOU CANUCKS!!
"Some of them looked energized, some of them looked relieved, others looked like they can't breath." - Jim Hughson
ReplyDeleteWhenever I hear Jim Hughson I always think of my old EA Sports NHL video games.
"Kessler goes hard to the net." - Craig Simpson
ReplyDelete/Bad innuendo'd.
"Andy McDonald gave Roberto Luongo a snow shower." - Jim Hughson
ReplyDeleteFast start and we finally get a shot on goal.
ReplyDeleteGood chance by Ohlund.
ReplyDeleteJim Hughson really likes using the term "snow shower" when a skater breaks in front of the goalie and sprays him with ice.
ReplyDeleteNow Craig Simpson is using the term "snow shower". Is that a Canada thing or something?
ReplyDeleteGave the Blues a power play. Oh no.
ReplyDeleteCOME ON DANIEL SEDIN!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! COME ON CANUCKS!!!! 1-0!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's really bad. My stream completely skipped over the goal.
ReplyDelete1-0 Canucks and SSR is jumping up and down!
TGLF (Thank Goodness For Luongo).
ReplyDeleteKessler and Luongo = Legends.
ReplyDeleteI did not think that that was an offside...
ReplyDeletePENALTY ON ST. LOUIS!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, there was a chance right there for the Blues. Not a bad game, thus far.
ReplyDelete1-0 Canucks after the 1st.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone could see the Rangers/Caps, the Blue Shirts really lucked out badly. They were flat out dominated but Jose Theodore just flat out sucked. I'm not looking towards Bob Cole on the Habs/Bruins.
ReplyDeleteI can hear Cole now.
ReplyDelete"SHOT!!! REBOUND!!! SCORE!!"
"There's a penalty on the ice. It's on Boston....oh wait it's on Montreal. Well who are the guys in the red shirts?"
"And that'll be an icing. Oh I think it may have been offside."
Bob Cole must have learned announcing from Michael Cole of the WWE...
ReplyDeleteThe 76ers win 11-110 over the resting Cavs in OT. Only the 2nd home loss of the year for Cleveland.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update, SSR. I completely forgot about the Sixers game.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is also the Sixers first win against Cleveland, Boston, and Orlando combined.
Phils game got postponed due to rain.
The Jays teed off on the Twinkies tonight. Tomorrow night, Doc vs Liriano.
ReplyDeleteSALOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSAMMY SALO SCORES FOR VANCOUVER!! And SSR is channeling is inner Gus Johnson right now!
ReplyDeleteThe Blues are in trouble. If the Canucks can score enough goal...I've seen it all year, Luongo is in the zone.
ReplyDeleteAnother penalty on St. Louis! McKee again!
ReplyDeleteGo back to the bench Edler.
ReplyDeleteVancouver penalty on Mattias Ohlund. Crap.
ReplyDeleteBad turnover by St. Louis but a nice save by Mason.
ReplyDelete"That second save was not quite as good." - Jim Hughson after Mason made another save. He does not like to hold back, does he?
St. Louis needs something from this powerplay.
ReplyDeleteSundin just hit the post.
ReplyDelete"There were human bowling balls flying all over the ice." - Jim Hughson
ReplyDeleteThe Blues have to take advantage on the man advantage. With the way Luongo is playing, they are screwed.
ReplyDeleteOFF THE POST BY DANIEL SEDIN!!
ReplyDeletePenalty on St. Louis and they're falling apart in this game.
I hate these officials. Another penalty?
ReplyDeleteLet them play!
They gotta let some of the ticky tacky penalties go. Not a lot of flow in the game.
ReplyDeleteGoal for the Blues by Brad Boyes and it's been coming. 2-1.
ReplyDeleteSCORE! BRAD BOYES! And it's now 2-1 Vancouver.
ReplyDeleteLuongo may be playing lights out right now, but there was no way he could have saved that shot.
ReplyDeleteBrad Boyes has found a home in St Louis. He is a great young player & the Blues are happy that they traded for him via the Bruins.
ReplyDelete"They courted disaster before they married it." - Jim Hughson.......WHAT?!
ReplyDeleteSundin is having a poor game.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to sign off. Good night!
Howie Long and Chevy even have commercials on Canadian TV? Well then. I wonder how many Canadians actually know who he is?
ReplyDelete"People have picked up on that rule. 18,000 referees just stood up." - Jim Hughson on the rule that says defensemen can't dump the puck out of play from their own zone.
ReplyDeleteCanucks have outshot the Blues 15-2 in the period and yet it is still 2-1 Vancouver with 5:25 to go.
ReplyDelete"In the automobile industry, I don't think that crash test dummies make this kind of impact." - Jim Hughson on a hard hit that knocked Perron down on the ice for a bit.
ReplyDeleteCanucks survive a hugh St. Louis offensive flurry at the end of the game to win 2-1 and take a 1-0 series lead.
ReplyDeleteI'll have another open thread tomorrow, although I won't be around for the first part of the night.
