Nick Price just won the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am!
ReplyDeleteNow that that's over, can we cut the interviews short and end this crap so we can get the hockey game started?
I am going to live blog the San Jose-Anaheim game tonight.
ReplyDeleteWoot! Flyers are sporting their throwback/alternates. Classic uniforms.
ReplyDelete"An orange-out in South Philadelphia." - Doc Emrick
ReplyDeleteWow, I never realized that Edzo was Crosby's original coach. I'm sure he'll be perfectly unbias in this game....
ReplyDeleteThe Flyers need to score first in this game and they need to score quickly.
ReplyDeleteThe Flyers are wearing some sweat sweaters.
ReplyDeleteIt's a throwback that they've been using this season as their alternate jersey.
ReplyDeleteFlyers gotta stop turning the puck over like this.
ReplyDeleteSCORE!!!!!!!!!! JEFF CARTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTHAT'S WHAT THEY NEEDED!!!!!! AND DAMN, WHAT A BEAUTIFUL GOAL THAT WAS!!!
Just what the doctor ordered for the Flyers.
ReplyDeletePower play coming up for the Flyers.
ReplyDeleteThat's how you score on the Power Play Sharks.
ReplyDeleteSIMON GAGNE BURIES IT THROUGH FLEURY'S 5-HOLE!!!!!!!! SCORE FLYERS!!!!!!!! 2-0 PHILADELPHIA!!!!
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!!!!
The power play goal has been re-credited to Mike Richards. They say it bounced off a Penguin instead of Gagne.
ReplyDeleteAND IT'S BREAKING DOWN IN THE WACHOVIA CENTER!!! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
"Why do I feel younger again?" - Doc Emrick
I hope that none of the Flyers in that penalty box are claustrophobic...
ReplyDeleteFor the first time in a long time, both penalty boxes are empty.
ReplyDeleteMalkin scores and the Penguins pull within 1 with seconds to go in the period!
ReplyDeleteScuderi scores for the Pens and right off the bat this game is tied at 2! Wow, that's not what the Flyers needed.
ReplyDeleteFlyers all of a sudden are looking real flat.
ReplyDeleteThat was beautiful by the Flyers.
ReplyDeleteAS SOON AS I SAY THAT CLAUDE GIROUX SCORES!!!!!!!!! 3-2 FLYERS!!!!!
ReplyDelete"That one ricocheted off the noggin of Fleury." - Doc Emrick
ReplyDeleteGotta love Doc!
There is just something about these interstate battles. Both teams just hate each other.
ReplyDeleteOff-topic, but I was so caught up with the Flyers that I lost sight of the Phillies, and well, I wouldn't I, they were losing 4-0. Well, it turns out that they came back and Raul Ibanez hit a 2-run walk-off in the 9th. Phils win 5-4.
ReplyDeleteSCORE!!!!!!! SHORT-HANDED BY SIMON GAGNE!!!!!!!! BUT HOLY COW.....WHAT AN EFFORT BY CLAUDE GIROUX!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Gagne's keeping this one! No question about who knocked it in this time.
And that's the first short-handed goal this post-season.
Speaking of baseball. Tim Lincecum struck out 13 batters yesterday and the Giants still lost 2-0.
ReplyDeleteThat's the Giants offense for you.
BTW, GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL!!!!!!!!
4-2 FLYERS
"Back part of your screen, here he comes." - Eddie Olczyk
ReplyDelete"Hardly anybody comes back from 3 [games] down." - Mike Milbury
ReplyDeleteLet's see.....in the history of the NHL that's only happened twice. Milbury's statement = understatement of the year.
JARED ROSS SCORES!!!! 5-2 FLYERS!!!
ReplyDeleteWHOOHOO!!!!!
Malkin scores for the Pens on the power play!
ReplyDeleteFlyers still lead, though, only now it's 5-3.
Ha! NBC just aired a replay which featured a very visible fan giving a very visible middle finger to Sidney Crosby.
ReplyDeleteSIMON GAGNE ICES IT WITH AN EMPTY NETTER FROM THE RED LINE! FLYERS WIN 6-3 AND THEY WON'T GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT IN THIS SERIES!
ReplyDeleteOver to the Sixers now....
I just wanted to let you know, I am sending a producer e-mail for the Sharks-Ducks live blog. So it's on the table for you, if you are around tonight.
ReplyDeleteWell done to the Flyers!
ReplyDeleteIt's probably their only win of the series. ;-)
I'll be around for most of the night, probably, so I'll join you.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably their only win of the series. ;-)If the Flyers can avoid the stupid penalties but continue to play with the intensity that they did today, they can make this a very interesting series. The 2 games that they were there in more than just the physical sense, they played the Penguins tough. It's that showing up part and avoiding the stupid penalties that they have to make sure they do.
The guy singing the anthems in the Blues game got booed. He was awful.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I missed it. I love laughing at awful singing.
ReplyDeleteBACKES SCORES FOR THE HOMETOWN TEAM!! 1-0 ST. LOUIS!
ReplyDeleteDisastrous.
ReplyDeleteNice to see you keeping a positive attitude, SSR. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat's positive about this start?
ReplyDeleteCouple this with Man Utd losing this morning in the FA Cup semifinal and this is a crap Sunday.
Rough. So far, this has been a really good Sunday for Philadelphia. Raul Ibanez had a 2-run homerun walk-off for the Phils and the Flyers demolished the Pens.
ReplyDeleteThe Sixers are currently losing by 15, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad. ;-)
/Meatloaf'd.
Slightly off-topic, but Philadelphia has gone 3 for 3 on the day.
ReplyDeletePhillies 5-4
Flyers 6-3
Sixers 100-98.
WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!!!
And what a chance there for the Canucks! SSR must have had a heart attack watching how close that was...
OHLUND SCORES!!! AND THE CANUCKS HAVE TIED IT AT 1!
ReplyDelete"He does not believe in momentum but he clearly does not have it now." - Jim Hughson on the Blues head coach, Andy Murray.
ReplyDeleteOHLUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat game in Orlando, BTW. Philly played well and made a great comeback.
DANIEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-1!!!!! COME ON YA CANUCKS!!!!!!!1
ReplyDelete5-on-3 for the Canucks.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I saw the Sixers comeback. And you can see my Gus Johnson-esque comments section of the NBA open thread just under this one ;-)
AND THE CANUCKS SCORE AGAIN!!! DANIEL SEDIN!!!! 2-1 VANCOUVER!!!
McDonald ties it at 2-2. Crap.
ReplyDeleteOf course. Exciting stuff always happens when I step out for 5 minutes. It's pretty much a fact of life.
ReplyDeleteYou guys aren't going to believe this, but Nathan Brice has invaded Fanhouse's live blog of the Atlanta-Miami game.
ReplyDeleteDETAILS!
ReplyDeleteUsername? Is he a sports reporter from Miami again? Wow.....not even the Fanhouse Boys are immuned from the world's biggest online douchebag troll.
Do they know he's a d-bag or have they not caught on to him yet?
Nathan is pretending to be other commentators on the live blog. So there has been kind of a fight between everyone leaving comments. The Fanhouse boys have started banning people though.
ReplyDeleteHe is a d-bag. He even used my name a couple of times. So I had to switch my commenting name to Keith D.
What a douche bag. He wants the trouble and the fights.
ReplyDeleteLAROSE SCORES!!!! AND THE CANES HAVE TIED IT AT 2!!!
CANUCKS SCORE!!!!! And SSR is giddy!!!
ReplyDeleteI missed who got it....I was watching the Devils-Canes stream when randomly checked to see if the Canucks game had return just to see the Canucks celebrating a 3-2 lead.
Toronto FC loses 3-2. I watched that game instead of the Canucks and TFC rallied from 2-0 down to tie it at 2-2....only to lose with 5 minutes to go.
ReplyDeleteFIRE JOHN CARVER!!!!!!
*Switches to Canucks game*
YAY!!!!!!!!
Link to the live blog please 49er16!
ReplyDeleteBernier scored for the 3rd goal for the Canucks, in case you were curious and did not know.
ReplyDelete/Just looked it up.
http://keithssportsjournal.blogspot.com/2009/04/live-blog-ducks-at-sharks-game-2.html
ReplyDeleteSeeing as I have not been watching much of Versus this year, I really don't know if it's true or not, but I was reading a post from Steve Lepore over at Puck The Media (a blog that's quickly becoming a new favorite of mine; I'll be adding it to my blogroll once I stop being lazy) and he was giving the Vs. crews fairly high marks this year and complimented them a lot, especially the team of Rick Peckham and Daryl Reaugh. I listened to Peckham a bit last year and I did not like him at all.
ReplyDeleteThe Canucks hang on to win Game 3, 3-2 and they have a 3-0 series lead over the Blues!
ReplyDeleteThe Canucks are a team that can go real deep in this Stanley Cup Playoffs.
YES!! WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER!!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently over at Keith's Sports Journal for his live blog of the Ducks-Sharks game. As always, I'll have more open threads back up tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteSorry for cutting the blog off early, I had some work I had to do that I forgot about.
ReplyDelete
