Phillies Blogger's T-Shirt Gets Taken Everywhere By Jim Tracy; Showcased On Fox

One year ago, ZWR did not have a blog bolg. Now, the shirts he sells on said bolg are being seen on Fox. The last time the Phillies played the Rockies, the whole Phillies sign stealing controversy erupted. ZWR made a shirt about it reading:

"We Have:
84 Home Games
Tasers
Roy Halladay
Your Signs"

The shirt had been spotted in Ryan Spilborgh's locker once before, but never did anyone realize the extent of the impact the shirt had on Jim Tracy and the Rockies until this came up on Fox during this afternoon's Rockies-Phillies game. (As a blogger who loves his readers dearly, it is quite necessary that I warn you that the following clip is from a game announced by Dick Stockton and Tim McCarver).

Too funny. For all the crying that Jim Tracy does, it is nice to see he has the ability to take a joke and even embrace it.

Holy Butt! (The Time ZWR's Shirt Was Featured On Fox) (I Want To Go To The Zoo With Roy Halladay)

(Thanks to cease and desist letters from MLBPA's attorneys, the Roy Halladay part has now been replaced with "You Know Who," so the shirt is not exactly the same now as it was when it was purchased by the fan and sent to the Rockies. But you can still buy the edited version along with all of ZWR's other cool shirts here.).

Bowling, Narcolepsy, Fox News, And Horrible Reporting

I've done my share of bashing MSNBC over the past few months, well now it's Fox News' turn. This error is more comical than anything, but someone at the research center for their mobile updates fell asleep or was not paying attention or something and the result is a hilarious miscue. With much thanks to the Comcast.net Fan, here's the Fox News Blast mobile update for today, September 4, 2009.

Thinking back, any of that seem vaguely familiar to you? I'm not talking about Blount, I'm talking about the narcoleptic bowler. Does that seem vaguely familiar to you? Take a look at this YouTube screen shot and you will soon see what is so funny about this (click for larger).

You see the error? If not, then take a look at the date on the YouTube screen shot right in the upper-right hand corner.....

Yeah, um, wow. Some goofball re-posted that video yesterday, got 121 views, and some genius at Fox, picked up that re-posting of an old video as today's news. And it's not like they had to do much research. Type in "narcolpetic bowler" and one of the top results is a 243,105 view video added one year ago! Incredible idiocy.

And now just for shiggles, here is the full video of the narcoleptic bowler from 2 years ago!

Too funny.

Lou Holtz Explains Why They Call Him Dr. Lou; Makes No Sense In The Process

We all know that Lou Holtz is picking Notre Dame to make it to the championship game, but now, seconds after Sean Hannity declared that he would think about running for office, Lou Holtz decides that that is the best time in the world to talk about being called an "idiot" and why he is called Dr. Lou. From TV Newser

Ah, good times! I do not quite understand why Sean Hannity insists on having Lou Holtz on his show (this is not the first time Holtz has been on), but whenever he does, it's pure comedy gold. Forget Sean Hannity, what if Lou Holtz decided to run for Congress or the Presidency? You know, Holtz for public office might be the single force that systematically destroys this great nation.......

My Last Keith Olbermann Post For A While

If you did not get what I was talking about with Keith Olbermann's hypocrisy in my rant a week and a half-ago, watch this and all will become more crystal clear than it ever has been before. And of all things, it has to do with the Garofalo video I put up in my rant. Just for easy comparison's sake, here is that interview again.

And now today's Worst Person In The World segment (wait for it, the hypocrisy comes with the "Worst" portion, although I must say, Keith calling out Manny Ramirez as "Worse" is great)

Don't worry, I'm not going to rant again. I did that before here and I let loose again at The O Files where I just so happened to be filling-in as JC is at the Phils game today (coincidence that I get to live blog the Ultimate Hypocrisy episode).

And my apologies for the Olbermann overload the past couple of weeks. But when there is not a whole heck of a lot going on in the sports world (i.e. summer time), sometimes things that would normally take a back seat in my mind and on this blog come to the forefront. Training camp can't start soon enough....

So I've Taken Up This Little Challenge....

Over at The O Files, JamesCraven put up a challenge to donate $.01 per second to a "charity of Keith [Olbermann]'s choice" if Sean Hannity goes through with his agreement he made to be waterboarded, as seen below, and double if he admits that it is torture.

Olbermann is donating $1,000 to charity per second that Hannity is waterboarded and double if he admits it is torture. JC, as mentioned above, as lowered the standard quite a bit. Now me being the poor, financially inept, skin-flinted college student that I am, I have decided that that would be too much for me. Yes, even $.01 per second, which would most likely equate to $.10....if he ends up admitting it was torture. So I have decided to take up a new, perhaps more interesting challenge. If Sean Hannity goes through with his promise and allows himself to be waterboarded with some documentation other than word of mouth that it happened, I will stop blogging and commenting on all blogs for a week. And if Sean Hannity admits that waterboarding is torture and/or that he feared for his life, I will make it 2 weeks without blogging and commenting on others' blogs.

Hell, you know what, I just thought of this right now. I'll raise the stakes, make this even more funner and challenging for myself. I'll torture myself in my own unique way. I'll stay off the internet, period! 1 week just for doing it with documentation; 2 weeks if he admits that it is torture.

(Note: I am not trivializing waterboarding to say the least. I fully, 100% believe that it is torture. However, other people other than Keith Olbermann have pledged various things if Sean Hannity goes through with it. Now whether we are right or wrong in doing so, that is your call, but I am just letting you know my stance on this.)

Fox News Guest To Glenn Beck: "I'm Passing Out"

Yesterday was a creepy day enough as it already was. There was the passing of Harry Kalas, Mark "The Tiger" Fidrych, Bruce Snyder, there was the discovery of the goat's head on the statue of Harry Caray, and then there this was this little incident of real life on the the Glenn Beck Show on Fox News last night which is hilariously scary. David Buckner, a professor from Columbia University was on with Glenn Beck last night when he uttered the phrase, "I'm passing out" and scary hilarity erupted as Professor Buckner proceeded to wobble and pass out live, on the air! But alas, it's the reactions of Beck that steal the show and make this video hilarious and worthwhile.

I love how it took pretty much forever for Beck to pick up what was actually going on. As he was the professor was constantly going "I'm passing out" Beck was like, "okay, moving on, you're passing out, let's continue to talk....". Too funny. And the close-up of Beck at the 36-second mark...priceless.

But despite the fact that it took him awhile to process what was happening, thank goodness he was there to catch him like he did because otherwise that would have been a really hard, not-so-fun fall for Professor Buckner. It really looked like Beck's outstretched arm took away a good deal of the impact of the fall. Seriously, kudos to Mr. Beck for that one. And it is reported that the Professor is all right so there is no shame in watching this video clip and laughing. But honestly, I don't think I've ever seen anyone pass out before where they knew 5 seconds ahead of time that they were passing out.
