  1. "Excuse me, I have to Tweeter somebody." - Orestes Destrade doing a loose impersonation of one of the New York kids who is a ladies' man .

  2. Ha. There you go, Keith. One of the Chinese Taipei players is a Tim Lincecum fan.

  3. I always feel bad for the kids that come from Europe. Every year a different team from a different country comes and no matter who it is, they always get completely clobbered. This one is no different as Chinese Taipei is beating Germany 11-0 in the 2nd inning.

  5. Lincecum actually has some Japenese blood in him. So I can see why the kid would be a fan.

  6. I guess I should have realized that this whole Moises Arias deal was one big movie promotion. Then again, I don't watch Hannah Montana and have never heard of him before so I guess you can't blame me.....

  7. This is Chinese Taipei, though, different from Japan. But maybe they like the Asian roots anyway.

  9. I just realized Germany is getting their asses handed to them. I'm ashamed to be full blooded German at this point......

  10. "You're all right. You're okay. Even Chipper makes a mistake, if you know what I mean." - Gary Thorne after a left-handed German 3rd basemen whom they were watching made an error.

  11. Don't be too ashamed. The team is from the Ramstein Air Force Base so technically they are American citizens, but they represent Europe and Germany anyway.

  12. I also just realized they are from our Air Force Base. That would explain the African-American kid playing the outfield.

  13. Chinese Taipei throws a combined no-hitter in a mercy rule shortened game as they beat Germany 16-0.

But perhaps the bigger story is that none of their pitchers pitched more than 20 pitches so none of them have to sit out a game and they are all available for their next couple of games which will surely be against some tougher competition.

  14. "The Moving Briskly Hawaiian is still at 1st." - Sean McDonough on a kid who is misnomered the Flyin' Hawaiian as he is the slowest person on the team.

  15. Even though I think he is one of the best announcers that ESPN has, I am surprised that they are using McDonough for the LLWS just because of his frequent jabs in the booth.

  16. I've been waiting for a team to adopt this strategy with the pitch count where a team with a deep pitching staff does not have a pitcher throw more than 20 pitches regardless of the score. Of course, Chinese Taipei more than likely only did it because they were up big before they even needed to pitch.

  17. "That guy swings a big stick." - Orestes Destrade

  18. Agree with you on the McDonough point. Love him and I think it's going to be hilarious having someone who deadpans plays and makes snide, sarcastic comments announcing games played by 12 year olds.

  19. Somebody please tell Gary Thorne to comb his hair....

  20. How does ESPN go from Erin Andrews and Stacy Dales sideline reporting the Little League World Series to Moises Arias? Ugh. I miss Erin and Stacy!!!!!!!!!!

  21. "I don't think I ever weighed 80 pounds. Started above that and kept on going." - Gary Thorne

  22. This has been a fun game thus far.

  23. as an aside, i don't think McDonough has ever gotten over CBS going w/ Greg Gumbel over him for the lead NFL announcer in 1998.
