May 2 Stanley Cup Playoffs Open Thread: The Impossible Is Happening....

....A Canadian team is being shown on NBC! Incredible, I know.

For all you ignorant NBC-watching Americans who thought all this nonsense about professional hockey north of the border was, well, nonsense, then let me, Down Goes Brown, and Bloge Salming take this moment to introduce to Canada's hockey teams.

See? Hockey does exist in Canada! And despite what you initially thought, NBC does care about it!

Montreal @ Pittsburgh 2:00 (NBC - Mike Emrick and Eddie Olczyk, ItG: Pierre McGuire) (CBC - Bob Cole and Garry Galley, ItG: Glenn Healey, SR: Elliotte Friedman)

Detroit @ San Jose 8:00 (*Versus - Rick Peckham and Daryl Reaugh, SR: Lindsay Soto) (TSN - Chris Cuthbert, ItG: Ray Ferraro)

  1. Matt Cooke with an incredible move to score. 1-0 Pens

  2. @JFein: A couple of years ago when Van Halen reunited, I bought tickets to their concert in Sacramento. It was terrible. David Lee Roth just doesn't have the same voice. Eddy Van Halen didn't play his guitar like he used to. I made up my mind right then and there, to never watch a band who's average age is 50-years old.

  3. I'm not going to lie, I'm watching Dennis the Menace on ABC Family. One of my favorite movies growing up.

  10. Did ESPN just go to a shot of the Mets dugout while a line drive was in the air and falling for a basehit?

  17. I missed both the big Phillies 4th inning and the fighting Mickey Redmonds (Rece Davis'd) take the lead watching the terrible mashup of "Waiting for Godot" & "The Hangover" Family Guy called the 150th episode. Bleh.

  18. Fuck Versus. That last Detroit scoring chance was interrupted by a McCormick Spices commercial.

  19. Somewhere, Mickey Redmond has a Miller Lite "ginger ale" in his hands grumbling about the calls against the Wings...

  20. @ RJBO: Heh. I am chatting on another board with someone else who missed the Phillies big inning because they were watching that Family Guy episode.

    I'll post video(s) and/or link(s) to video(s) tonight or tomorrow morning.

  23. What a bullshit call against Heatley.

  24. Detroit pulls Howard from the goal. Then they get called for too many men on the ice.

  25. Too many men call against the Wings. Heh.

  26. Congrats, Reaugh. Anyone who works "slovenly" into a broadcast gets my respect.
