2009 NHL Conference Quarterfinal Schedule

I'm pretty sure the only thing worse than watching the Flyers lose home-ice advantage in their first playoff series is watching the Flyers lose home-ice advantage for their first playoff series on an online stream from Russia where the MSG announcers are in the background and Russian announcers are in the foreground with a bunch of yahoos trash-talking the Flyers in the chat room all the while I have to read The Prince during commercials for my class tomorrow. So even though the Flyers are pretty much screwed, here is your NHL conference quarterfinal schedule (I'll add announcers once they are known; both American and Canadian because Versus sometimes uses the TSN and/or the CBC especially for the later, western conference games). I'll fill in announcers as they are unveiled from the506, although I'm not sure I'm going to get anything from RDS and RIS. And yes, I am aware of the fact that it says on April 16, Versus has games scheduled at 7:00, 8:30, and 10:00. I have transposed what was on the NHL website to this blog. Not quite sure how that will work but whatever, I guess.

And seeing as I do not get Versus, TSN, CBC, RDC, and RIS, I will be relying a lot on online streams and often times that may result in me watching local broadcasts (not to fear, I'll still fill in the national announcers), so with that in mind, even though it's more for my benefit than anything, here are all of the teams' local announcers that will cover the playoffs. Thanks to Scotty05 from the506 for compiling these together.
(1) Bruins - Jack Edwards, Andy Brickley (NESN)
(2) Capitals - Joe Beninati, Craig Laughlin (CSN-MA)
(3) Devils - Mike Emrick, Chico Resch (MSG+)
(4) Penguins - Paul Steigerwald, Bob Errey (FS-PIT)
(5) Flyers - Jim Jackson, Bill Clement (CSN-PHI)
(6) Hurricanes - John Forslund, Tripp Tracy (FS-SO)
(7) Rangers - Sam Rosen, Joe Micheletti (MSG)

(1) Sharks - Randy Hahn, Drew Remenda (CSN-BA)
(2) Red Wings - Ken Daniels, Mickey Redmond (FS-DET)
(4) Blackhawks - Pat Foley, Ed Olczyk (CSN-CHI)
(6) Blues - John Kelly, Bernie Federko (FS-MW)
(7) Blue Jackets - Jeff Rimer, Danny Gare (FS-OH)
(8) Ducks - John Ahlers, Brian Hayward (FS-PT)
Wednesday's the day. Go Flyers!

I don't plan on really live blogging any of this. Sorry, but I have 3 weeks of classes left and I have to study big time for finals so I won't have my full concentration on the game for the full time (especially if it's a blowout) and then once it's a blowout, my family and I like to watch the Flyers together (maybe if they get eliminated early, I can have some live blogs of the later rounds; maybe). What I will do is have an open thread per day where I (and you can too) chime in your thoughts/PbP/analysis/commentary in the comments section. Somedays I'll be more active than others. And I will be doing the same with the NBA playoffs once they roll around. Enjoy the Stanley Cup playoffs, everyone!

  1. If you ever get a chance JFein, listen to the San Jose broadcasters.

Remenda is one of the best color commentators out there. And Hahn doesn't give you the over the top calls like some of the other Hockey announcers do.
