Today In Scary Sports Injuries: Rick Ankiel Takes On The Outfield Wall

There are occasional sports injuries where you feel the victim's pain as they are happening and this unfortunately is one of those injuries. During last night's Phillies-Cardinals game in the 8th inning, Pedro Feliz hit a deep line drive and as he went to make the catch, Rick Ankeil dove and that dive resulted in him going head first into the outfield wall and being knocked out immediately. Take a look for yourselves.

Ouch. Despite being out on the field for what was seemingly over 10 minutes, he was taken to the hospital and has since been released and the good news is is that nothing appears to be broken or fractured or anything like that. That is definitley a good news, especially seeing how serious it could have been.

  3. That was certainly miraculous...that Edgar Renteria got a hit in the 1st. Oh, and Ankiel not being seriously injured is amazing, too.

    /Still bitter about the Renteria-for-Jurrjens trade
    //It's 3-1 now
